I read one reason Del Rio hired Tice was they played together at Minnesota. Later I learned Sean Salisbury played with him at Kansas City. The last thing I heard about JDR playing linebacker was he went to the Pro Bowl during an 11-year career. What number did he wear? Which linebacker position did he play? How long did he play on each team? Was he better against the pass or run? I know none of that helps Jack coach Sunday against the Bengals, but thought it would be neat to know what the head coach did when he was a player in the NFL.

Edit: playing not palying in subject title

Though I didn't get to see him often, I tend to remember him as a beast.

Its Meier Time (10/31/2008)
He was slow in Tecmo.

Actually, he was pretty fast in Tecmo. He was the player I used on defense when the Vikings were my team. He wasn't quite as fast as some of the other linebackers in the game, but he was definitely the fastest linebacker on his team. All hail Tecmo Bowl!

I remember him when he played. He was considered an animal and very tenacious. Not the fastest LB but a sure tackler and he would hit hard. He was not very good at covering sideline to sideline but anything in the box was dead meat. Similar to a slow Ray Lewis.
