The way it's been moderated in the past works for me.  I know some people want religious/political discussions, but I liked the sideline more for the fun and randomness of it.

I thought it was moderated fine the way it was.

Just keep the political and religious threads off the board as has been the case in the past. The harmless posts that were just silly were fun IMO. I don't think they caused anyone, including the Jaguars any harm.

The same as it has been moderated in the past. Follow the CoC, no problems.

How would you moderate the Sideline?

I understand your thinking behind deleting the sideline. It is based on a solid principle, and your reasoning was sound.

My private response to you was also sound. I know this isn't answering your question, but people are complex beings. We all have much common ground, and have many gounds that seperate us.

That was the beauty of the sideline. It all came together there. It was a "mini-society"

One that many of us were very passionate about.

As far as how to moderate it? The rules of common sense, decency, and respect towards others would be the foundation of that. The complexities work themselves out from there.

In a short answer, that's what I think.

Thank you very much for asking. It says a lot about you and shows you care.

Ditto.  I have no problem with how things are being handled now.  Quite honestly I think at times it has been too lenient.   Shoot, once or twice I would have even warned myself.

While politics is perhaps a volatile topic for debate, it is one of my favorites.

Too oftenthough, political debates spiral into personal attacks, and ultimately into a flame war, with those who disagree, unable to reconcile what might have been a lasting friendship.

In short, politics and religion should be only slightly tolerated as a topic for discussion.

I feel as if I can debate these issues without becoming enraged, (most of the time), but if I had to moderate it, I would, as you have done, refuse to continue cat herding.

You guys did a fine job, for the most part. I have no complaints in this regard.

I agree wholeheartedly. Keep the political and religious discussions forbidden and let the others fly.

You could call it Chit-Chat or something if you want to.

I believe it should be moderated the same.

Certain posters do not understand that we have different opinions on almost everything and sometimes that results in some fighting.

All in all, we are all Jags fans and we have that in common. It's a fun place to come to. It's also a place to come when we need help. I certainly wouldn't be where I am today without the help of the people that post here on the sideline.
