| The Mad Dog (10/30/2008) JID, I'm probably wasting my time offering this opinion, since it's probably too late for you guys to do anything at this point even if you wanted to...
but,
I think it is an extremely bad decision to discontinue The Sideline.
The sideline was a great place where the members of this board could take a break from football, talk about a variety of subjects & get to know each other better & create friendships & more.
While I wasn't one who requented the sideline as much as others, I did enjoy the forum & thought it was a cool place to chill.
Sometimes, people would be in need & the sideline was a venue where they could ask for/ get help with certain problems/ issues. Now, that will be impossible, with the loss of that forum & the new rules.
I think we will lose a lot of traffic on the entire forum because of this decision, and IMO, that cannot be a good thing.
The offseason will be extremely boring without the Sideline....especially post draft till camp opens.
Let me also state that I hope that you keep the overall design/ colors/ asthetics the same, as I think this board is much better in the current colors (black backdrop/ white type, teal & gold accents.) It's easy to read & looks cool. Much better than the previous board.
Hopefully some of my comments here in this post will be taken seriously & if possible considered. I think its a fair assumption to say that my opinion up there is not alone.

That in and of itself should say quite a bit. And what is this board for again................ Ultimately---THE FANS If we, the fans, want a place to talk about our city, current events, ourselves, and other topics as such, what are you doing but depriving fans of that. BAD IDEA. And oh, yeah...... BUMP

| Kareem (10/30/2008) Wait...this has to be Shack's fault....Well since we're overpaying free agents we had to cutback somewhere.

rollerjag (10/30/2008) Yep, and that will really test the mods. What will constitute "off-topic" will be debated incessently. If a fan can't afford tickets because of some new tax, is that football-related? What about players who are named after religious figures? Those sound like NFL at Large topics to me.

| | I hope it works out like the last time where it was an upgrade and not a downgrade. Also, what's up with the "football only talk?" One can only wonder why the board keeps eliminating the nonfootball forums one by one. You should note that the individual opinion of a Jag fan does not reflect on the organization as a whole.

| Okay, I'm done with you people. Unless we all band together and start a new board. No, not Jag-Nation. A new board for us Puritans, not them Separatists. The first rule of said board being of course "Yes Sideline."
The Mad Dog (2/24/2008) Had I started in 2003, This team would have seen a SB by now.
Starting from right now, with the team in it's current state, I could have this team in a SB within 2 years/ seasons. | |

| | I had a lot of problems with this message board and really hope the new MB will get everything fixed. The Broncos message board does not have those problems so the website obviously is causing it, not my computer. Here is what happens to me most times I am here: 1. When I click QUOTE the wrong post is quoted. 2. When I click REPLY I send my post to the wrong thread. 3. Clicking REPLY also causes me to create a new topic. 4. The first time I click REPLY or ADD A TOPIC, I get the message, "Session identity expired or is not found." Huh? What in the world is that supposed to mean? 5. Sometimes I also got an error message when I tried to change a quote in a post. What is causing all this? Are others having these problems too? The only way to fix a problem is leave the message board and sometimes even jaguars.com or NFL.com and return to the site, which of course is a pain in the butt becaues I must look for the thread I was trying to reply to and post I was trying to quote. There is one other problem that was never fixed: when I tried to create a new user name, I never got the email to activate the account. So now there is a member on this board who can't post. How can I start posting with the name JaguarsWoman if I can't ge the activation email? I wanted to change my name because some people assumed I am male and others have similar user names. Name-calling and belilttling is on almost every thread. Will we get the ignore button back or a way to hide posts with certain content?

When the wrong post is quoted, it means that somebody else has posted in the topic since you opened it up. Annoying isn't it? Especially during some hot debates. The rest I have no idea, those have never happened to me before. And yes, the ignore feature is returning. |
