MJD=MVP2007 (10/30/2008)

Vic said the line was getting push against Cleveland

MJD got the majority of the carries that game, not Fred... and was not good... at all, or even close

By the way, JDR called Vic out on that comment. I'm very skeptical of any of Vic's game evaluations, most of what he says is based on what someone tells him. Do you think the coaches are really going to tell the media guy the reality of the situation most of the time?

Why do you think its always MJD in the on 3rd and 4th downs???

Because that is how he is best used? They used him on 1st downs too in the Cleveland (Fred got dinged up I think) game and that did not work. Our run game in general has massive problems this year due to various reasons and it has nothing to do with the RB's themselves.

You don't think there is any possibility that both MJD and FT are as productive as they are (well, were) because of how/when they are used?

It has to do with the fact that our O-Line is the walking dead....and that the defense is stacking the box, I'm just a dissapointed in the running game as you, and we are prolly gonna have to wait til next year before we can get that smashmouth running game back

GO BIG RED!!! BEAT THEM SOONERS!!

Wow.  The GM is now "cow manure".  It's "not personal" though, right TMD?  You are truly a douche.

Yep, I agree I just think the MJD is better than FT argument is stupid with our run game being in the state that it is. Lets face it, when a team wants to stop the run (unless they are soft), they will... whether it is MJD, FT, GJ, Barry Sanders, or Jim Brown

Disappointment:

1) Failure to realize the importance of Grady Jackson and Sammy Knight.  Sammy made 2 game saving plays last year and was our leading tackler.  Grady plugged the holes as we went on our December & January wins.

2) Tackling

3) Blank -- injuries are uncontrollable so I'll hold off judgement

Good things:

1) NO name on the stadium.   We blew it.   Forget it now with this economy .... maybe we can be Government Bailout Park.

2) No white sticks at the Steelers game.   Why have they not realized this was the best gimmick in Jville history to drown out the terrible towels.

3) Matt Jones & Scobee

I can't see how Harvey can be listed as a disappointment. Did folks honestly expect big numbers right out of the gate? If so then you, said fan, would be my biggest disappointment.

I didn't expect much from RW this year. Sure he had TDs last year but he isn't a stretch the field guy nor is he the best route runner. I tried to leave anyone off who was injured but Porter has flopped in every facet of the game when healthy.

Biggest Performers:
This is actually pretty easy.
(1) Matt Jones-Simply put the guy has changed his career and has changed a fan base. Good for him.
(2) David Garrard-With the injuries on the o-line David needed to step up. He struggled a bit at the start but now he basically is the offense.
(3) Josh Scobee-Deep kick offs and clutch FGs. He is reliable and he wins games.

Biggest Disappointments:
This too is easy.
(1) Jerry Porter-Injury or not he simply has not done anything to warrant the paycheck. Add the negative public image and he gets the top spot. When you fail to haul in a simply out pattern on 3rd down after complaining....
(2) Gerald Sensabaugh-Our nickel coverage has been horrible. Gerald was supposed to be a cornerstone at SS and too many 3rd down conversions have exposed this weakness. Add to that he filled in terribly when we had injuries to our starters.
(3) Rob Meier-As others have noted, our interior line is hurting. We are gutted regularly and we don't get a push up the middle on passing downs. I'm not sure I have heard his name called all year.

The world of the happy is quite different from the world of the unhappy.
