| | We have lost to 4 AFC teams. If we lose another game or two to AFC team we will be last with tiebreakers as conference record is a MAJOR determining factor when 3 or more teams have a tie record. 10 and 6 will not get us in. Baltimore 4-3,SD 3-5, Indy 3-4,JAX 3-4, MIA 3-4, CLE 3-4, all these teams for 1 playoff spot. Im assuming denver wins the West, and BUF and NE make the playoffs. If NE or BUF fall out or back to the pack it would be all these teams fighting for 2 spots. Im not counting the texans, we all know they wont make the playoffs. 10 and 6 isnt good enough do you guys agree? |

| | I disagree. 10-6 will definitely make the playoffs for the Jaguars. However, we must beat Indy and Houston in our remaining games against them. Here is my breakdown, and how I think it will go: AFC East New England: 5-2 · @IND - W · BUF - Toss up · NYJ - W · @MIA - W · PIT - L · @SEA - W · @OAK - W · ARI - W · @BUF - Toss up Buffalo: 5-2 · NYJ - W · @NE - Toss up · CLE - Toss up · @KC - W · SF - W · MIA - W · @NYJ - W · @DEN - Toss up · NE - Toss up NYJ: 4-3 · @BUF - L · STL - W · @NE - L · @TEN - L · DEN - Toss up · @SF - W · BUF - L · @SEA - W · MIA - W AFC East: NE and BUF will finish around 11-5 or so with NYJ finishing 9-7 or 8-8 AFC North BAL: 4-3 · @CLE - Either way, Jags gain a game · @HOU - toss up · @NYG - L · PHI - L · @CIN - W · WAS - L · PIT - L · @DAL - L · JAC - L CLE: 3-4 · BAL - Either way, Jags gain a game · DEN - toss up · @BUF - toss up · HOU - toss up · IND - L · @TEN - L · @PHI - L · CIN - W · @PIT - L AFC North: Pitt will win the division, and no other team in this division will win more than 8 games. Seriously, that schedule is brutal. Possibly, Bal or Cle can get to 9 wins but that would be it. AFC South: IND: 3-4 · NE - L · @PIT - L · HOU - Either way, good for Jags · @SD - toss up · @CLE - toss up · CIN - W · DET - W · @JAC - Jags must win · TEN - toss up HOU: 3-4 · @MIN - toss up · BAL - toss up · @IND - Good for Jags · @CLE - toss up · JAC - Jags must win · @GB - toss up · TEN - L · @OAK - W · CHI - W AFC South: Titans will win the division. Indy and Hou both have 4 losses, they play each other once and each play the Jags once. If the Jags can win both those games, and finish 10-6 they are guaranteed to finish 2nd in the division. AFC West: SD: 3-5 · KC - W · @PIT - L · IND - L · ATL - W · OAK - W · @KC - W · @TB - Toss up · DEN - Toss up DEN: 4-3 · MIA - W · @CLE - Toss up · @ATL - W · OAK - W · @NYJ - Toss up · KC - W · @CAR - L · BUF - L · @SD - L AFC West: San Diego still scares me a little. I think it would be best for them to lose to Indy, because after that they could win out. I think they'll finish 9-7. Even if SD catches fire and wins the divsion, Denver will finish no better than 10-6, and the Jaguars will hold the tie breaker. Wrap-Up: If the Jaguars finish 10-6 and are able to beat Houston on MNF and Indy in Jax, they will definitely make the playoffs. Can they go 7-2 the rest of the way, I'm not sure. I hope so but I'm not guaranteeing it.

In your scenario if any team OTHER than the colts go 10-6 the Jags would LOSE the tiebreaker to the other team. Simply because of the AFC record. |

| Which Wild Card contender do you think will go 10-6? Jets? Browns? I doubt it, but you never know.

| dude, what 2 or 3 teams besides the top 5 are getting 10 wins... you are delusional if you think that will happen...
the 6th seed is currently 4-3.. that means theyd have to go 6-3 in there next games, and the jets lost to oakland and barely beat KC... they arent going 10-6 with 2 gms vs buff, 1 gm vs NE, 1 gm vs TENN, 1 gm vs broncos.... aint happening
i dont even need to list the browns and ravens, if you think 1 of them gets 10 wins.. then... LOL

TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21

| | How many of you have actually read the full schedules of all AFC teams this year? I think every AFC team except the Raiders, Bengals, and Texans will stay in the race until after Thanksgiving because 8-8 is good enough in the NFC, so the NFL doesn't rule out any team that could win half of its games until there are too many winning teams to let them sneak in the back door. Also think about this: What is the division record for the other AFC teams? Before a conference record tie is considered, they look at the division records. If we beat all three division opponents for five of six AFC South games, how will we compare to a team in a different AFC division with the same overall record? Hmmm, let's see . . . Denver beat the Chargers and Raiders but lost ot Kansas City. Pittsburgh beat Baltimore, but look at who the Ravens defeated. (Baltimore is Week 17 for us.) New England beat the Jets, but not the Dolphins? Who lost to Buffalo so far in the AFC East? Now look at the conference opponents. San Diego lost where Jacksonville won: the Mile High City. That will help if we get to the common opponents tiebreaker.

| Other than an couple of teams at the very top the AFC is in a steep down year. I don't see any of those teams going 10-6 by the seasons end meaning if we can pull it off we are in. I could honestly see 9-7 getting in this year. With the conference records in play the Jags would have to win out in the AFC and get a little luck to get in at 9-7 but it isn't out of the question either. It's win or else time but we can still control our own destiny to a certain extent at this point.
