DiegoRainerio27 (10/28/2008) Ive torn my hamstring.. Takes a little time to heal but it hurts like a you know what... He should be playing up tp potential already.. He is hugh douglass all over again.. This is a goof signing... i'd give him till next training camp but the fact is he has 1 catch... Id rather kept woods or broussard to get 1 catch!
hamstring injuries are potentially career ending I'd rather get him back healthy than an 80% porter that could get hurt even worse.
also same with Reggie Williams. TMD bashes him and calls him a bust (even after a 10 TD 600 yard season!) since he doesn't understand that he missed all of the preseason and TC b/c he got knee surgery!!! GIVE THEM TIME!
when they light it up the people on this board will wake up and stop worshipping Phil Savage and Bill Polian as TMD's disciples.
Well I didnt think he was good before he came in.. So pre-bias there.. He's 30 he doesn't have much time, for him it's different.. I understand the hamy, but it's healed now.. 100% ..if you ever played sports you'd know you really just need to be in shape to get back.. Also he's been in the nfl a while now and at this point in the season it's time for him to step up!
And I am the biggest reggie williams fan there is! haha maybe not but I definitely waited for him by today's standards!
the excuses need to end a little though.. You all take everything to an extreme ... that is all you guys problem! one end you have the jump off the bridge guys and the other end you have the give it time hippies... either way the vendettasit's getting really old.. life is too short to lash out on a message board...
Hammy's are never healed 100%... I have torn my once and pulled it many other time running 220s. It is a persistent and lingering injury.

| | It's not so much his ability but his attitude. He was a cancer in Oakland, which under the circumstances, might have been understandable. But the Jags, (Shack) seem to think that they can change a person's attitude and find a diamond in the rough. That has not happened with ANY of Shack's picks. Once a malcontent, always a malcontent. The Raiders warned the Jags about Porter and they took him anyway. Now, he doesn't speak to the media and is standoff-ish to the staff internally as well. This team needs guys that are proven and professional. IMO, we missed a huge opportunity by not going after Tony Gonzalez. And next season, one of the guys we should go after is Anquan Boldin. Lord knows, we have enough receivers to trade and cap money to make a push for a guy who got his head taken off two weeks ago and came back last week and put on a clinic. Proven vets with no attitude is what the team needs. And Shack Harris needs to go. He's not a good evaluater of top talent. |

| infenit101 (10/28/2008) Dude just came back from HAMSTRING SURGERY and you are expecting God-like feats. He will get it together and he will fit in fine. When he starts his run everyone is going to jump on the Porter bandwagon. It'll be just like when everyone hated Matt Jones (yes I was one of them) and then jumped on the bandwagon when he suddenly snapped and finally got it (maybe we should give him more coke!). Anyway mark my words if its not this year it will be next year. Porter will be the 3rd weapon Garrad needs and people will go nuts at his skills.
Go Jerry Porter!
I dont think anyone expects much more than catching the **** ball on a key play where you would have had a first down. hes just not performed up to par yet. im not saying he wont, but i am saying what hes shown so far hasnt been good. Also if hes still kinda injured i dont think hed be in. Hes also had plenty of time to shake of the rust.

| WVsNumeber1WR (10/28/2008) I don't know, I know for sure Porter is a beast when he is healthy and clicking on all cylinders, but I can't understand why he dropped those two crucial passes on Sunday..
I'm not sold on Greg, from what I've seen I just don't think he is a match for the players we offer here. Thats why we need to get the guys that can play an aggressive scheme. That means, Mike P, Spicer, Meier, and maybe even Daryl Smith, might be rolling.
