| rollerjag (10/28/2008) It's a moot point. Phil Savage could've had the Jaguars GM job, but Weaver was afraid to turn total control, which Savage wanted, over to one man, after his experiences withCoughlin. Savage turned Weaver down, and until the Browns win a playoff game under his regime, he's just another NFL GM chasing a dream.Any Savage vs. Harris comparisons are just for dead horse abusers. It's a mute point.

The Mad Dog (10/28/2008) how many eat crow posts of "your boy Phil Savage's Browns couldn't beat Harris' Jags, had the Jags won that game.
I'm not making this post with the intent of making others eat crow, but pointing out the double standard that when the shoe is on the other foot, nary a peep from the same people.
& I know you would have done it.....just look at all the Quentin Moses referensces/ posts I still see thrownin my direction,.
Phil Savage is a better GM than James Harris, and lets leave it at that and put that to rest. Phil Savage is picking in the top 10 every year. His team went 10-6 last year on the weakest schedule you've ever seen (only ONE win against a team over .500, and it was the seahawks 33-30). When was the last time Savage picked a good player that wasn't the overall consensus #1 at his position? (must be easy to hit on picks when you're in the top 10 every year, and every player you take is the consensus #1 for that position). case closed. Do you not realize how much browns fans hate Savage? Not to agree or disagree with anyone here but Savage did pull off the trade for Shaun Rogers who was someone with character/motor issues and that paid off nicely on Sunday.

I was unaware that Phil Savage blocked a FG and deflected a last second pass to Matt Jones with his helmet last sunday...
also who was posting that he wasn't better b/c he couldn't beat the Jags and when since I never recall that especially since this is the first time we've played the Browns in 2 years...

Hm while I don't think that it is easy to call GMs better than each other and I think that the comparisons themselves are a waste of time, I really have to give it up to you. You were right about almost everything you said. You predicted the poor performance by Jerry Porter, the overrated and overpayed Drayton Florence, and you called the Derrick Harvey fail of a pick. I thought you were a negative, anti-fan, reversehomer when in reality, I was the one drunk off my *** with teal colored Kool-Aid. |

| | Savage isn't even in the same league as Shack. The two shouldn't be compared. Savage has had only season above .500, and that was as deLight said earlier one of the weakest schedules the league has ever seen. But hey, I'll pull a TMD and use a mere one game to prove my point. Savage's Browns lost to the Raiders last year. The Jags blew them out 49-11. Therefore, Shack>Savage.

| ^It's their rookie year, they need to find their own way.
Mario Williams needed time, Reggie Bush, Ted Ginn Jr., etc...
They will come around and when they do, we will have two of the nastiest youngest DEs in the league.
I'm in Cincy this week!! Jaguars time!!
Record: 3-4

Florence isn't playing horribly; Harvey is just a rookie.

This post sums it all up............................................
Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21
