Again, you're missing the question i'm asking.

I'm not asking whether he had a good game this week and Vic saw this too.  I'm asking from your observations of what Vic has wrote about DG over the years, whether he played well or not, were his opinions in line with reality?

Garrard had a good game this week.  Not certain why you want to blame him for the loss.

HA HA.  Where do i blame DG for the loss?

I think he protects Garrard. Whenever Garrard does something wrong he blames it on someone else, but when other ppl mess up he puts it on them.

I think I know better than to try too hard to figure out Vic.

Vic has a serious man-crush on Garrard. I think Garrard is playing extremely well right now and has seriously improved from the beginning of the year, but Vic is over the top with his gushing about Garrard.

As much as I hate to say it, MJ is making Garrard look just as good in the air as Garrard is making himself look on the ground. Garrard had some amazing moves running the ball yesterday, but without MJ to catch those passes, the score would not have been as close as it was. The rest of our WR's would not have given us a chance at winning.

I wanted MJ cut at the end of last season, but he has done enough to convince me that he is a solid receiver, especially that catch and run he made for the sidelines. But, if you take out MJ and leave RW, DN, and Porter - the game isn't nearly as close, no matter how much DG runs. Garrard can't put the team on his shoulders without a WR who will come down with the ball. More often than, MJ has become that guy.

You aren't looiking too deep into it.  He's quite a bit too protective.

His insistence that the play early in the year was so based on the receivers was ic.  They are the same receivers that are now rather productive, excluding Jerry Porter.  He said, and I quote, the receivers "were Yucko" earlier this year.  None of the blame went the QB's way.

Vic must really hate it to have to give Matt Jones credit this year, as he clearly did last year with Reggie scoring so much.  You almost never hear Ketchman say anything bad about David.  David has certainly made me eat my words of a few years ago, but I don't think he's Mr. Perfection now like Vic insinuates.

Vic has a lovefest with David G. His in-game blog is all about how Garrard threw it right on the numbers etc. and seldom mentions that the receiver had anything to do with the play other than catching it. Garrard is perfect in our run first offense, but he's not a top NFL QB. He's in the middle of the pack.

Our problem this year is not Garrard or the WR's but the make-shift offensive line.

It's nice to see people post that I haven't read in awhile.

NATE and DM13 where ya been hiding?

oh and you are both seriously wrong about Vic protecting DG. Nate you've always hated DG. So you are completely biased as in the past. Almost as bad as stroudcrowd or Alf in the hatred for your QB.

DM13, not sure if you have suffered a brain injury cause you used to be good. Vic calls it like he sees it. Garrard is our MVP. Maybe he wouldnt have to vocalize it if he didn't get notes from people like Nate asking why David cant throw the deep ball. Vic knows this team has issues, and it ain't Garrard.

DM13 I have disagreed with you a lot in the past, but I agree that Vic is just a tad overboard in his portrayal of David Garrard.  David Garrard certainly has played well at some points, including recently, but Vic has given DG too much credit when he has struggled.  I think part of it is that he thinks that Jacksonville needs to chill a bit on QB criticism no matter who it is.  Even with that, I think he has gone overboard, like his editorial right after the Indy game where he gave David all the credit for the win and didn't even mention Fred and MJD by name.  He seemed to think our rushing success in that game was incidental.

Thanks for the kind words Breeze.  Just taking a seat back.  I think i took this board a bit too seriously when i was posting in the past.  I got into too many pointless arguments.  Won't happen again.  Once posting on this board is no longer fun, you are doing it for the wrong reasons.

And i didn't realize nate has disappeared also.  He's a great contributor to this board.

Agreed.

I just get the sense that when he has a good game, he makes sure that he lets everyone know that he had a good game.  And when he has a bad game, he does seem to deflect some of the blame away from him.

That's just my limited observation.  I don't think he goes overboard.  Just a tad.  We all have our biases whether we admit it or not.  No big deal.
