| I am honestly just curious. Were you a Houston Oilers fan before you were a Tennessee Titans fan? I'm just wondering. No motive behind it.

| | I'm a 23 year old Nashville native, and can remember football before the Titans came to town. In those days the 'home' teams were generally seen as Dallas and Miami. Those were the teams on TV every week. I was a huge Dolphins fan as a kid and never missed a game. Making the switch to the Titans was rather complicated. If the team moving to Nashville had been one I disliked then I wouldn't have considered changing. If the name 'Oilers' wasn't changed and the team didn't have their own identity I never would have considered changing. When you are getting a team you obviously become interested in who they are, even if you weren't an Oilers fan. One factor that probably made it easier for me to switch was that Dan Marino was all I ever knew and by the time the Titans were moving into town, his career was coming toward a close while the Titans had an intriguing player named McNair who appeared to be the future. Once they had their own identity and had a cool nickname, I gradually made the change.

| | I was an old Oilers fan. I lived North of Houston in my teenage years and became a fan. Perhaps a product of being a military brat and moving around the country, I don't have a particular loyalty to a town / state etc (I get a chuckle at all the pissed off Houston natives). Instead my loyalty is to the franchise / team, wherever they reside. |

| I was an Atlanta Falcons fan.
27 years of misery.
I still follow the Falcons since they are an NFC team.
But nothing beats having the NFL in your own backyard.

| I was actually a bit of a Steelers fan before the Titans/Oilers moved to Tennessee. Having a home-team, however, changed fanship for me altogether. Before the move, I followed college ball much closer, and rooted for the Steelers when I could catch a game, though I didn't really follow the team that much. After the move, I became much more fascinated with the entire NFL. It obviously became difficult to remain a Steelers' fan, but it went further than that. I still watch some college ball, but not even close to what I used to watch.
