KingJones (10/27/2008) Gregg Williams out of Jacksonville!!!
What was it about his scheme yesterday that created the gigantic holes for the Cleveland running game to blow through?
Schematically, outline the play calling that caused the blown tackles or blown coverages.
Our fans truly rank among the elite intellects in the entire NFL.
Dude, how do you explain it? This is NOT the same defense. This is PRACTICALLY the same guys out there (they might actually be better!).
What's the difference? One guy went on to be a successful head coach, another one was snubbed for the job and went South (pun intended).
Yeah, that's the only difference. It certainly makes no difference that Marcus Stroud is no longer on the roster. After all, he's a complete non-factor in Buffalo, right?
Stroud had his struggles here with health issues, but he was still better at 80% than anything we had lining up beside Henderson.
Henderson is not the same player that he was 2 years ago. How is that Williams' fault? That decline was starting last year under Smith when he returned from his concussion, but we're now blaming it on the scheme? Okay. I'm clear now.
Spicer? Hayward? They're doing what they can, but these are both older players and one of them is nowhere near the guy he was prior to the injury. He's still doing what he can to contribute, and he's actually playing well, but he's not where he was prior to the Achille's injury.
It's not the scheme that's the problem with this team. Williams is considered one of the brighter defensive minds in the league. The fact that we don't have the personnel on the field that are best suited to run his defense has more to do with the problems than the scheme. That will change if Williams sticks around. He's doing the best that he can with the limitations he's dealing with.
We didn't have stroud the last 2 years dude. Get it! With the suspensions and him getting hurt. He missed 12 games in the last 2 years with the jags and when he did play he was at 80% or whatever you said. Like it mattered.
He played in 20 games over the last two years. He wasn't the player that he was prior to the ankle injuries, but he was still better than what we're seeing right now. To say otherwise is pretty much the equivalent of sticking your head in the sand, dude.
Look at the stats. Stroud was more effective on one leg.
Yeah he is proving that for surein Buffalo with both legs! 20 tackles and 2 sacks WOW!
this sums up your intelligence quite well... LACKING to be kind...
if you are judging a DT off his tackle numbers and sacks, you have no business talking football. if we had 2 DT's that didnt have a single tackle, but drew a double team every play like we used to, this team would be atleast 5-2.
grady jackson was old n slow and out of shape, but by gollie he needed 2 guys to keep him from bursting through, as did henderson... we need a big huge body to eat up space out there.
Agreed |
