| FBT (10/27/2008) This fantasy about Coughlin is downright ridiculous.
Anyone even suggesting it was clearly NOT here when he was firedfollowing the2002 season.
You think it's bad now? Nothing today could come even remotely close to what we had to contend with from the "genius" fan base in 2002.
People need to let go of the past and move on. Quit romanticizing what was a very tumultuous and ugly period in the franchise history between 2000 and 2002.
As far as Coughlin drafting well, huh? Other than those first rounders and a couple of hits in the second round, he wasnothing better than average with draft picks. Same thing with free agency.
Hire him as the GM? This team required nearly3 years of rebuilding to recover from what Coughlin did to wreck the salary cap here.
I never read so much bull crap, holy crap we have stupid people in this thread.
1. Tony Boselli (very good)
2. Kevin Hardy (with us Very Good)
3. Tony Brackens (with us very good)
4. Fred Taylor (very good)
5. James Stewart ( was showing potential until he tore his acl)
6. Brad Meester (yeah, one of the better Centers)
7. Aaron Beasley was good for us
8. Darius was good for us
9. Maurice Williams very good
10. Stroud (we all he's good)
11. John Henderson (we all he's good)
12. David Garrard
We brought many decent/players in :
1. Mark Brunell was a nobody)
2. Jimmy Smith ( was a retired forgotten player
3. Keenan McCardell (was a nobody)
4. Carnell Lake
5. Mike Peterson
6. Paul Spicer
and more.
Give Tom credit.
What has Del Rio drafted?
1. Matt Jones (having a decent year, but taking forever). Still needs more to time to prove he's 1st round quality.
2. Reggie Williams (same) Had a good 10 TD year, but only 38 receptions
3. Lewis (still hasn't become a good TE)
The only rookies I've seen that have had a break out season :
1. Jones-Drew
2. Reggie Nelson
3. Rashean Mathis
4. Daryl Smith
Those are the only rookies that come to mind that were amazing.
6 years vs 6 years.
Tom had better rookies/FA signings then Del Rio. If it wasn't for Tom dealing some crap players to acquire Brunell, taking a risk finding Smith and Mccardell. We would have been a crap team probably still. I give this man so much credit for bringing talent int. |

You really think Del Rio is better then Tom? Answer that. Having 18 players (only few I named). Took us to 4 play off games and 2 AFC championships.
Del Rio has been here since :
2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
Where's the AFC championship game? Why doesn't have have 18 good players brought in from Draft/FA?
I was off on the years, but the fact Tom took a team with NO :
QB
RB
FB
WR
OLINE
Defense
The fact in 96 he found true talent :
QB
WR
WR
OLINE
Growing Defense
By the time in 98
he had
QB
RB
WR
WR
OLINE
By the time in 99, he ranked the 1st defense in Points Allowed......

That pea between your ears clearly struggles with reading comprehension. Coughlin had an expanded salary cap to deal with for the first few years that he was the head coach. That helped him build a team quickly. Del Rio inherited a team gutted by cap mismanagement and was forced to almost completely rebuild the team by giving both expansion franchises a financial advantage over the rest of the league. Coughlin was a good coach, but his time here was well done when they fired him. He was toast and needed to go. Only some half-witted tool such as yourself wouldn't grasp that point.

How about this FBT tell us what JDR record is since he got here. Then justify that and please no excuses about rebuilding the franchise after TC left. Thats weak. Then tell me how many playoffs wins we have between TC first 5 seasons and JDR first 5 Season and take note that TC started with an expansion team and JDR actually had a hand full of decent players.

Wow, I was off on a few seasons. It's the fact no team has done what we have.
Browns, only 1 playoff season
Panthers, few playoffs (superbow) but more losing seasons then winning
Saints, always a losing franchise until 2006, but lost again in 2007
Buccaneers, weren't good until late 90's
Texans, been in the league 2002 and still can't find the playoffs
Yeah, take your words back you fool. Wow, I was off on 1-2 years.. Still the fact Tom has brought in better players then Del Rio. Del Rio did manage to bring in Gregg Jones, he was a bust at RB and excelled at FB (lucky for us). Still, a good share of our starters in the Del Rio era, came from Tom. Tom had to find those people, you dumb ****. |

John Henderson (we all he's good) 12. David Garrard We brought many decent/players in : 1. Mark Brunell 2. Jimmy Smith 3. Keenan McCardell 4. Carnell Lake 5. Mike Peterson 6. Paul Spicer and more. Give Tom credit. What has Del Rio drafted? 1. Matt Jones (having a decent year, but taking forever). Still needs more to time to prove he's 1st round quality. 2. Reggie Williams (same) Had a good 10 TD year, but only 38 receptions 3. Lewis (still hasn't become a good TE) The only rookies I've seen that have had a break out season : 1. Jones-Drew 2. Reggie Nelson 3. Rashean Mathis 4. Daryl Smith Those are the only rookies that come to mind that were amazing. 6 years vs 6 years. Tom had better rookies/FA signings then Del Rio. You listed 18 players in 8 years and this is your ringing endorsement? You don't have a friggin' clue. Thats a weak responce coming from the supposed #1 A-Hole on here. Smarts. As far as any clue......put the name tag on because you didn't justify a thing here. Let hear it. Why would I bother with a pissant with an IQ only slightly higher than yours? It's a waste of time when the nitwit thinks Coughlin was only here 6 years, then comes back with 7 years proving that he doesnt' know diddly squat. Feel free to sidle up to him because together the two of you might find enough brain power to equal shoe leather. Now your talking brain power BUWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAA. I'm still waiting for you to respond in the other threads joker. Why would you bother with a responce....I don't know all mighty Jag-homer-king-now-it-all you tell me. Coughlin was handed a distinct advantage of what Del Rio was handed when he assumed control. If you're not smart enough or informed enough to grasp that point, you might want to stay out of the deep end.
