JAGANTIUS (10/27/2008) I saw a post yesterday that said Matt Jones was a top ten receiver. Dude come on...I am as happy as anyone about but what Matt is doing but lets not get ridiculous. Here are 10 receivers I would take over Matt in no particular order..
1. Steve Smith 2. TO 3. Randy Moss 4. Wes Welker 5. Brandon Marshall 6. Santana Moss 7. Plex 8. Reggie Wayne 9. Chad Johnson 10. Andre Johnson
Matt is a awesome possesion receiver but he is not in these guys classYou make a post belittling someone then you make a top 10 with Welker in the top 5??? Are you kidding me? Chad Johnson? Huh? Welker=Jones. Only shorter and last year he had a better QB. Houshma..whatever Colston ( although injured) Lee Evans Larry Fitzgeralad Anq. Boldin Greg Jennings Hines Ward Roddy White? Chris Chambers Calvin Johnson ( even with no QB) Theres ten more. I love how Matt has turned it around, but lets not carry him into Canton just yet.
I can't discuss **** or **** because I am on double secret probation. | |

Matt does seem to have turned things around this season and I am impressed. Keep in mind though that his humpers of leg thought he should have been enshrined in the HoF as soon as he was drafted. They have not changed. They only have gotten worse with his recent success.

| | Let's not jump the gun on Matt and call him a top ten receiver. But it was great to see him open all game. There was a play where he faked his DB and was wide open down the sideline. Garrard threw a pass to Lewis that was dropped. Matt had a TD if Garrard saw him.

| He's currently 13th in the NFL in catches. Top 10? No. Top 13? Definitely.

| The fact that this even warrants a discussion shows how far he has progressed...
He's definitely one of the top receivers in the AFC.. |

Talentwise? Probably not. It was a joke in the midst of truth.

| | I would rather have Amani Toomer over Matt Jones. Toomer is a consistent receiver that always performs in the clutch. On 3rd down the Giants often pass to him resulting in a first down. Jones is developing nicely but there are plenty of recievers I would rather have them in. What makes him stand out right now is the receiveing core around him. |

| | I was the one who said it and I stand by it. BTW, TO and Chad Johnson aren't top 10 receivers in this league anymore. And Welker? Please. He was a product of a guy named Tom Brady, last year. And for the record, I have been a big Matt Jones hater over his tenure but judging by his play THIS YEAR he is indeed a top 10 receiver in this league. Not gonna even gonna entertain this stupid argument though, because so many on this board are still blinded by the hatred they have for Matt due to his play his first 3 years. |
