Uhhhmmm...how many passes did Taylor catch? How many blocks? How many first downs? So MJD ran just as well as FreddyT AND caught the ball, made key blocks, and got several first downs.
There's nothing else to say except that he needs more than 3 more carries than the QB.

This is a joke right? DG ran the ball because that was the only option for him at the time. Did you watch the game?

MJD got most of the carries, he failed! PERIOD! Just as FT has been according to you EXPERTS.

MJD caught the ball and got 1 whole first down on his own. That is what he does Catches the ball so he will get them touches over FT.

No it's no joke and he had more than one first down AND he did it running the ball. Did you watch the game? Glad Meester's back, but he and Reyes never moved the nose tackle out of the way and we ran BOTH backs directly into the middle of the line. Two of MJD carries were designed for 1-2 yds to get first downs, nothing more. Fred would never be given the ball in that situation cause he would NEVER get the first down.

What RB gets 12 carries and is effective? Because teams are stacking the line neither back is going to get much period. SINCE they both won't get much running the ball, you have to look for other ways to get them the ball. That means PASSING them the ball. There is no argument about how is better, based on the situation. Heck they way the OC keeps calling dive plays, you might as well give it to Greg Jones instead of FreddyT(Not saying he's better!)

do people not realize that the running game depends on the blocking?

how many times have we seen a mediocre back play like a superstar, only to come back to earth the following game??

its all about the OL

In case anyone needs a clue.
Pick a number between 1 and 100, Add 52, Now subtract 7, Add 4, Subtract 13, Subtract the number you started with, Divide by 2, Add 7, Multiply by 4 then subtract 9 ... Viola there's your clue.
Sam

Priceless.

Both backs bring their own style to the team.  MJD hits the hole quick and runs people over, Fred likes to make people miss and explode down the field, two styles with good results.  The fact is other teams are going to take away what you do best.  So it's up to the OC to find other ways to get the ball in the hands of the best players.  It's so frustrating to watch this team lose, given the capable talent on both sides of the ball.  We are way better than this!
