| Say what you will about Hines Ward but if he was on the Jags you would love the way he plays.
I always come to my conclusions by careful, scientific observation.
But only if the results of said careful, scientific observation fully corroborate my biased opinion. If It Ain't Dutch, It Ain't Much

| seriously.. this is sad. You'd beat a guy because he's a physical player who plays a position that usually is meant for finesse Marvin Harrison types. That makes total sense. Sad part is if he was a jaguar you all would love him. And the Ravens having a bounty on him? ooo aaah... it makes them look pathetic, you know why? They haven't been able to hurt him yet. This concept of a bounty on Ward isn't new... look what he did to ed reed and bart scott... hard hitting players who got jacked up by a wideout. So they want to take him out... and you know what, that just means Ward has to keep being physical because if he slows down someone is going to try and take his head off. End result of bounty? Defenders getting jacked up. That worked out real well. Isn't it great how the bad boy of this days NFL isn't even on defense or running back... he's a wide receiver.

| Hines is just that guy that wont ever shut the ef up; and runs up just to knee you in the thigh while screaming "dead leg"! then walks away with that god awful smile that says "I DID SOMETHING UNJUST AND IM GETTING AWAY WITH IT! NAh NAHAHHH"
But seriously,
I admire his physicality but I hate his before/after the whistle actions. |

| Hines Ward = Eddie Haskell in a jersey.
He's an embarrassment to an otherwise classy and respectable organization. I honestly don't know why any self-respecting Steelers fan would support him.
The up side is that anyone who enjoys breaking rules as much as he does will almost certainly end up in prison after his career is over because he can't be happy if he doesn't feel like he's getting away with something. I'm betting on kiddie porn, but maybe I'm overly influenced in my assessment of his personal character by his "pedophile in a playground" grin. |

| Klutzyclari (10/24/2008) Whats with the hate on Ward? Football IS violent. Its about beating the crap out of the opposition during the time given. I love watching Ward play, because he attacks defenses. Why can a receiver get laid out while in no position to defend himself yet when a defender, a linebacker at that, gets blindsided and suffers a broken jaw everyone needs to vilify the receiver? Its Rivers' fault that he took for granted the thought of getting blindsided. If he watched any film, or knew anything about Pittsburgh, he should have known Ward loves to block and take kill shots.
Before anyone calls Keith Rivers a "poor kid", remember this, he made it through college football (where a lot of people are either not good enough or suffer career ending injuries), is a first round pick, and is making a lot of money. Plus, there is next season and he will make more money. If i could make millions of dollars, and would have to get my jaw broke, I would. The issue is that players are WORTH millions of dollars. Franchises can't afford to lose that much money to players who lose value due to injury.
Plus, how is he supposed to use his arms to slow down a linebacker? a simple rip move can remove his arms leaving Rivers' still in position to make a play. By running through him he made sure he had no chance to make a play. That. Is. Football.
Maybe I've been watching too much hockey as of late, but the NFL is becoming more and more of a pansy league because of all this whining. Let players play, and let the quarterback go down and go down hard. I love NFL classic games.Classic NHL
