| | No doubt in my mind we've been bailed out... This I think for the second time this year. Which is fine with me though...

Kevin from Orange Park, FL: What’s your reaction to Hines Ward breaking rookie LB Keith Rivers’ jaw? STEELER VIC: Fine him? They should pin a medal on him. 10/21/2008 Classy. | |

What makes on sense is that I can go out to ticketmaster right now and purchase a ticket in section 230. I just tried it to see if anything was available and apparently there is...now something has had to change in regards to NFL blackout policy or we are getting bailed out. There is no other explanation for it.

| Many cities flirt with blackouts (oakland, san diego, minnesota, etc). Considering the economic woes of the country and rising ticket prices, I expect a lot of blackout scenarios next year across the country.

| Maybe the NFL has relaxed it's policy due to the economy?

They stated on Jaguars.com that although the game is not blacked out, there are still tickets available. No blackout does not mean the stadium is completely sold out. It means they sold enough tickets to show the game on TV. |

No blackout does not mean the stadium is completely sold out. It means they sold enough tickets to show the game on TV. but in the past is was ALL non premium seats or bust. There never was an "enough" clause until this year. Anyhow, this disturbs me very much, but a Steeler fan in my office suggested the NFL is giving Jacksonville a break because the team will be moving. In other words since the Jags days are numbered in J-ville the league or the team is throwing us a bone. I don't buy it. In fact I have to give him the finger for even suggesting it.

| | I hope I am dead wrong on this. I have a feeling Weaver is purchasing the tickets. I looks much better to an investor to see a team with no blackouts as opposed to one that has them. Weaver knows if he can sell in the next year he will make that money back on the back side. That could be the reason you will not hear about it in the public. However why would anyone buy an NFL team in this economic times. I have never given credence to the articles of selling but this gets me thinking. OH well I hope I can chalk this up to paranoid.

| | You're being paranoid. Weaver isn't buying any additional tickets. He's already on the hook for nearly 10k seats that are under the tarps. He has made it clear that he won't do any more than that to avoid blackouts.
