with the melted O-line, and BEFORE the denver game... MJD was averaging 4.5 ypc...

Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21

So do you think Fred's time has past?

Great article, Paul Kuharsky has always loved the Jags.
Maybe because he is assigned by ESPN to cover the AFC South? Don't get it twisted, he's a big Titan homer.
He can love the Tacks all he wants, he always lays down smooth when it comes to the Jags! He doesn't make things up and keep it real in almost all he writes about the Jags. Even a little unknown debate about the Fans here when it comes to FT and MJD.
He probably just reads our forums all the time, since we have the best forum in the AFC South :o

I would have to agree, otherwise this ending paragraph is unnecessary:
"A final thought with regard to Taylor as the starter. In two-back systems, a start is largely ceremonial and is often more about which back gets the bulk of his work on early downs. Taylor has 72 carries to Jones-Drew's 65. They will be roughly even through the season provided both remain healthy."

**FIXED.

I made it BOLD and LARGE so the BLIND could see!

The only reason the carries are that close is because Fred didn't really play the Denver game.

Exactly. That statement is VERY misleading.

Look, it still proves deLiGHT's point that they're reading our forums.  It really isn't being talked about THAT MUCH on radio.

Anyway, I was under the impression that originally, MJD was being saved for Return duty; but that hasn't been the case that much this year.  Maybe that's why some people are beginning to complain so much?  Because, hey, he isn't returning as much, so why not more carries?  I really don't know.

MJD was slightly injured the three games before it and didn't play as much as we would either, which would both increase FT's playtime and decrease MJD's.. Its a moot point

Will you people give it a rest! I have yet to read an MJD supporter say that Fred Taylor should be cut or put out to pasture. Yet I read a zillion Fred Taylor posts defending him ad nauseum. And you guys sound like a combination of grumpy old men and kids with all your name calling and rude behavior.

People put out stats, make relevant arguments, etc. and you react like you've been personally attacked and just have lame replies like calling them an .

All great players eventually have their time past. Tomlinson and L. Johnson's time have passed. Favre's time has passed. It doesn't mean they still can't be spectacular, but their best days are behind them.

You seriously can't be thinking that Fred Taylor will run like he's 22 for the rest of his life.

This will be a good game for both, period! Who cares what role either plays as long as it goes in the "W" column.

He did last year right? His time will come and when that is, it will be FT and the coaches decision. Not yours or anyone elses so until that day comes please can all the arse clown clamp it down.

BTW what did MJD do last year at 22 again? What did Fred do at 22 while sharing carries with Stewart?

They are both great backs. Lets leave it at that.

Love them Jaguars
