"Bengals rookie LB Rivers done for season

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said following Sunday’s 38-10 loss to the Steelers that rookie LB Keith Rivers is done for the season after suffering a broken jaw.

Rivers was injured when he was hit hard from the side on a block by Steelers WR Hines Ward. He was replaced by LB Brandon Johnson and never returned to the game. Rivers, the ninth overall pick in last year’s draft, started all seven games for the Bengals this season."

Ward has gone toooo far. I hate this guy. His blocks (that just about break players bones when he hits them when they aren't looking) His piss poor attitude when he gets hit, his taunting. He a tool and should get suspended for the rest of the season

He has no face, no shame. He makes the NFL look like crap. I bet his coach love his hit on this guy and breaking his Jaw. Guys a rookie and can't even play because this clown want to dismember players when he blocks.

If I was a player on the Steelers upcoming games I would be looking to put a good ol lick on Hines Ward. Loser!

Who does he think he is, an NFL receiver trying to spring his running back for a big gain? How dare he! Ban him for life!

Seriously dude, you need to change your Pampers.

And everyone cheers when Reggie Williams does it.

Additionally, Reggie Williams does it to a player away from the ball when it has no significance to the play.

No one here had a problem with that cheap shot during the Atlanta game last year.

Maybe you can come change them for me dude. I welcome you to come change my wet ones anytime.

Its sad you think breaking a mans jaw is cool and Ward deserves to be given an award for it huh? Actually its pathetic. The hit was just a token of appreciation from Ward huh. It was legal the crown of his helmet hitting the mans face head on. Wow what was I thinking.

Man I just don't remember him breaking a players JAW. Maybe you can clarify it for us. Maybe find it on "youtube". Reggie leading with his head and knocking people out. Man that would be something to see. He does it ALL the time huh.

So there's a jaw break clause in hitting a player with a block now? Everything is OK as long as the jaw is intact?

Reggie indeed did it regularly last year. Everyone here thought it was a great show of how tough he was.

I'd love to show you a YouTube clip of Reggie's unnecessary hit and cheap that was on the other side of the field during the Atlanta game, but not enough of you fans were in the stadium that day to have it televised.

But lookie here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saTSIvb8GLQ

Is this one good enough? Looks like he's leading with his head about as much as Ward did.

Additionally, the thread where I was called a "sissy" and a "pansy" and told that I know nothing about football because I thought it was unnecessary to throw those cheap hits is long gone. My point being that it was, in addition to unnecessary, going to make him a target.

I would love to bring that thread back up.

Here's the Ward hit:

You tell me what the difference is because I fail to see it.

Now look what you've done Bjorn, you've gone and gotten "stupid" all over you. Go inside and wash up before you get any more on you.

Didn't I tell you what would happen if you stated your opinion around here?

Just incase you missed it on the first page here is a better angle...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXxc9OxIJyc

To be honest its not just about this hit. Its Ward overall. Look the Steelers game this year. Tell me there wasn't about 50K fans that didn't want to get on the field and punt Ward in the face.

Maybe we can get 23 pages, lets do it. Lets fill it up with so much BS we do get to 30. Lets get STUPID!

Chooch you did make a great point about opinions. Much respect to sir, and BJORN....I take back my sarcasm sir. You don't deserve that. My Bad.

Sorry man, legal blocks don't deserve fines.  Maybe next season when Rivers is healthy he'll remember the hit on a running play involving Ward.

I don't see what you're getting so worked up about.  It's unfortunate that Rivers is gone for the season, but perhaps he should've been more aware of his surroundings.  This is football.  I don't like Ward, but he put a good, legal lick on the dude.

In regard to Bjorn's comment, he's got a very legitimate point.  If this was Reggie putting a block on say, oh Keith Bullock and getting the same result, nobody would be saying anything bad about it.

Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing.

Yeah, I missed that link. It is much better.

Don't get me wrong. I hate Hines Ward. I think he's a trash talking jerkhole that takes advantage of the receiver position in ways like we are talking about.

My point was that Reggie Williams was doing the identical thing last year and everyone here cheered it. I didn't and I was called many fine names because of it. And I proudly sport a black number 11.

I just get tired of the same old double standard around here.
