I don't know who Debbie from Indy is, but we aren't back.  One good game doesn't mean anything.  I said that last week.

Because I posted today, I'll go ahead and balance the scale.

Just my thoughts...

We really shot ourselves in the foot.  Green Bay played a good game, but penalties of our own doing killed us.  We couldn't get off the field to save our lives.  Tim Jennings was practically playing for the Packers.

I think the play that changed the game was when Dungy pulled Manning off the field on the 4th and 1 while we were down 10-7.  That was big.  Given how long our defense was on the field, I thought we were screwed from there.  Coincidentally, against the Jaguars a month ago, we were at midfield with a 4th and 1 while being up 7-0.  We punted both times.  I'm not saying two plays wins both games at all.  What I'm saying is that you have to take a chance and give the defense a break.

Dungy's never been a man to show a lot of emotion, but he just doesn't look in sync this year.  Mathis' pick for six was just about the only thing we've seen out of him all year.  The way he uses the challenges leaves me puzzled.  He should've challenged the Driver catch whenever they had the 3rd and 6.  They would've punted.

The difference between the Colts team that won last week and the Colts team that has gotten shallacked by the Jaguars and Packers is that the former was playing with a lead.  I don't think this is the defense's fault.  No defense can play well when they're on the field for 2/3 of the game, which basically happened today and against Jacksonville.  It's not happening.  Whenever the Colts have a two-posession lead, their defense is as good as anybody's.  Freeney and Mathis become immediate factors.  Playing with a lead is what our defense was built to do.

The Colts desperately need another offensive tackle.  Ryan Diem is awful.  Watching it on tape, the interior is pretty solid (the two rookie guards are playing great; Saturday is a little off), but Tony Ugoh can't stay healthy and Diem just isn't good.

The one guy that came to play today was Dominic Rhodes.

Every loss stings, but all isn't lost for anybody.  Save for the Bills and Titans, nobody is playing well and everybody a weakness.  Cleveland is 2-4, San Diego is 3-4, Jacksonville is 3-3 (just like us), New York is 3-3, and New England is 3-3.  .500 isn't a bad thing and homefield advantage in the playoffs hasn't amounted to a whole lot over the last three years.

Jacksonville is 3-3 just like you....but we have the tie breaker at this point.
