Well Mark Sanchez is my favorite college QB in terms of translating to the NFL right now, so I sent him a message on facebook asking him what he'd think if some crazy scenario happened where he became a Jaguar.  He said, you know that Coach Del Rio wouldn't play me over David Garrard.  Then I said, Oh true, you're exactly right, but you would be the heir apparent in Jacksonville after David, then he replied, I don't want to sound selfish but I want to go somewhere I can play right away, I don't wanna sit on the bench.

Just thought I'd share that, and find out your opinions on Sanchez and where you rank him among QB prospects such as Stafford, Tebow, Painter, Cantwell, Bradford, etc.

I said: hey mark! great work at usc, you're my favorite qb in ncaa, i'd love to get you in teal in jacksonville in '09 as the future QB!

Mark replied: even if i played for the jags we know del rio wouldnt start me over david garrard

I replied: thats true but you would be the heir apparent in Jville!

Mark replied: this maybe sound selfish but i kinda wanna go to a place where i can play

i dont wanna sit on the bench

Regarding his attitude, you always, always, always want a guy that wants to play. Why would you hire someone that wants to sit on the bench?

As for his playing ability, that USC Offense obscures so much about a players abilities because they simply have more talent on the field than most anyone else. There is a line of thought out there that in order to really get a good evaluation on a QB, they need to have 2 years of starting experience and a completion rate of 60% or better. I would like to see him play a little more before we lock him in to his perceived value.

Bradford, Tebow, Stafford, and Sanchez are the top four NFL prospect QBs playing right now.

You can pick your poison...at this point they are all rated pretty darn high.

I will not deny that I have thought about Sanchez being the Jags Rd 1 pick in 2009 more than once.

Tebow isn't really in their class as far as translating to the NFL.

Just asked Mark Sanchez if he has thought about declaring at season's end and he said, he has thought about it and he would say he's about 55-45 leaning towards declaring for the 09 Draft
