For you FSU fans, will Everette Brown - DE come out for the 2009 draft? If he does, is he worth a late Rd 2 pick or does he get picked before the end of Rd 2?

I love the guy and think he's gonna be a very good NFL player.

I'll let Big John project his draft position though.

He was a linebacker coming out of high school and was moved immediately to DE. He grew into his frame and is now in the 245-250 range. I think he still has room to grow. He can get in the 260 range without losing much speed.

People will naturally think of him as a speed rusher but he plays a lot stronger than his weight would indicate. He can bull rush and he actually has a pretty good array of pass rush moves. He has a really good spin move.

Like a lot of undersized DE's, people will assume he'll play as a 3-4 OLB and while I don't doubt he can do it, I also think he can play in a 43.

Now, will he come out? That's what FSU fans have been asking for a while. There are a couple things helping him right now. Unlike a few other starters on the defense, he was NOT suspended for the first 3 games so he has those 3 games on film. He played a really good game against Wake making a few tackles in the backfield on run plays.

He can run the 40 in the 4.55-4.65 range.

I think he offers value in the second round. I don't however think he'll last to the end of the second round. He's also a redshirt junior and I think he wants to come out.

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump into the first round.

He' extremely athletic, a very good player, and has a great spark off the line of scrimmage.  I've seen him bull rush tackles, rip through tackles, and spin to the inside of tackles.  He's also dropped back in zone blitzes and been able to make plays (came close to 2 INT's this year, dropped them both, but hey he's a DE).

I could easily see him being a 1st round pick this year if he comes out, especially with the premium on DE's now.  I don't see him falling past round 2, personally, although I could be biased seeing I'm a Nole.

My predicition: he declares this year as a junior, and is taken no later than the top 10 of the second round.

During the Wake Forest game he continually jumped the snap and disrupted the back field.  I was extremely impressed.

I, however, do not see him as a 3-4 OLB guy.  For some reason he doesn't strike me as a Wimbley type guy.  Could he do it?  Yes.  Is that where he is most effective?  I don't think so.

I don't know if he'd be more successful in a 4-3 or 3-4. I think he's got the ability to succeed in both schemes. He's not stiff. He can definitely drop back. I just don't know how effective he'll be rushing the pass without his hand on the ground.

Assuming that Greg Hardy, George Selvie and Everette Brown all come out as Jrs to join the two Sr DEs Brian Orapko and Michael Johnson, rank these 5 DEs in the order they will be drafted.

Is there another DE that will sneak ahead of these five DEs?

Yeah that's what I was referring to.  He's definitely fluid and can cover I think.  I'm talking strictly pass rush.

I haven't watched enough of the other 3 to be honest.  So I'll refrain from ranking.
