1. Brian Orakpo
2. Greg Hardy
3. George Selvie
4. Tyson Jackson
5. Michael Johnson

Pannel Egboh is also very very good. Another 34 end / 5-tech type. Greg Middleton is also good. Love the way Eric Norwood plays. He'll find a spot in the pros. Everette Brown is a good collegiate player, but like all FSU DE's...probably more of a LB, he is a "we'll see" type for me. Needs to go to the right team to succeed.

I've been wanting to lay eyes on Egboh for a while now, but I haven't had the chance. Think he could play LDE or would he be better as a DT?

The Jags could very well end up being a 0.500 team and as such should be in a very nice spot to grab some major talent upgrades. In my mind the team needs to concentrate on both lines, starting with another DE because they are so hard to find. Then in the 2nd and 3rd rounds the Jags need to look at DT and the BA Olineman.

Checking out Walters Football site's 3 Rd draft, the Jags could end up with:

Rd 1: Greg Hardy - DE - Mississippi

Rd 2: Herman Johnson - OG - LSU

Rd 3: Fili Moala - DT - USC

That would not be a bad haul at all!

Can someone tell me why Moala is dropping so much. Preseason, he was a top ten pick. Is he pulling an Alan Branch?

First of all, EVERYBODY has an opinion on where players fall in THEIR rankings. Personally, I think that Moala is a Rd 2 selection, but it only takes one team out of 32 to make him a Rd 1 selection.

So much depends on how he weighs in at the combine. He can't pull a Lawrence Timmons and come in 2 inches and 15 lbs lower than scouts thought. If anything, he needs to pull a Derrick Harvey and weight in 10 pounds heavier than people thought. I think that is the biggest thing holding him back. It's not his ability, it's his size. I haven't been up close to Everette to gauge his height/weight like I could with LT (it was obvious LT wasn't 6'3'' 240 when you stand next to him).

He plays the run just as effectively as the pass. The ONLY concern for me is his weight. I want him at 260 when the combine rolls around.

Good read, thanks Stigma

It's interesting to read what an actual NFL scout has to say about prospects

1) Brian Cushing, OLB, USC

2) Peria Jerry, DT, Mississippi

3) Antoine Caldwell, C, Alabama

IMO...we address the Defense early....if Cushing is available I think he's the pick, we'll likely move Smith to the MLB spot and I don't think Ingram is a quality OLB starter...

Jerry would be an outstanding pick in the second round and Caldwell could start if he wanted to.

Assuming that the Jags end up with a record of close to 7-9 and draft around 14th in each round, then check out who would be available under this guys rankings.

Rd 1(14): Greg Hardy - DE - Mississippi - 6'4" 265 lbs

Rd 2(46): Gerald McCoy - DT - Oklahoma - 6'4" 295 Lbs

Rd 3(78): Sean Weatehrspoon - LB - Missouri - 6'1" 235 Lbs

If only his rankings were credible.

Trade picks 2 thru 7 and move up to take Tim Tebow, LB.

I like Caldwell in the first round, still like a WR like Kelly (Clemson) second round, the big guy from Oregon (OT/OG...Fatupu or whatever his name is)  maybe third round and after that I'm not sure.

DT Scott from Clemson could fall to fourth round maybe, maybe a LB like Jasper Brinkley from S. Carolina in the fifth and maybe another OL in the sixth?

I dunno. Who's Southern Cal gonna have left?
