| InsanenasnI (10/16/2008) Has anyone seen Eric Decker - the wide receiver from Minnesota - play? Name: Eric Decker College: Minnesota Number: 7 Height: 6-2 Weight: 215 Position: WR Pos2: Class/Draft Year: rJr/2010 40 Time: 4.56 40 Low: 4.48 40 High: 4.65 Projected Round: 2-3 Stock: Rated number 6 out of 316 WR's 58 / 2370 TOTAL While he may be a big play WR in the Big Ten, he looks to be not much more than a possession WR in the NFL. He is a Jr and would have to declare for this draft. |

| Stigma (10/15/2008) My previous mock draft was based upon a 7-9 record or something close. If the Jags are able to build a 11-5 record and draft around 28th in each round then my draft looks much different.Rd 1(28) - Everette Brown - DE - FSU - 6'4" 255 Lbs 4.65/40 I think he comes out early and jumps up into the late part of Rd 1. He meets a continued need of the Jags to generate a pass rush. I think he can put on 15 to 20 lbs and become effective against the run. I also think that Reggie Hayward will not be kept without reworking his contract. Rd 2(60) - Fili Moala - DT - USC - 6'4" 295 Lbs 5.20/40 His draft stature has suffered somewhat since the Oregon State game, because the USC Dline was not able to stop the run effectively. He is not a big pass rusher, but he should fit well into the Jags DT rotation. I would prefer Tyson Jackson here, but I think he will be gone by this spot. Rd 3(92): Joe Burnett - CB - UCF - 5'10" 185 Lbs 4.45/40 I do believe that the Jags need to pick up another CB, given the injury to Scott Starks. Unlike Larry, I don't think that Joe Burnett will go in Rd 2, but will fall to the end of Rd 3. I think he offers value at this spot and should be helpful in the return game and on special teams. One thing about Burnett is that he is a ballhawk, with 12 Int over the past two season, not counting this season. Rd 4(124) Brian Toal - OLB - Boston College - 6'1" 238 Lbs 4.67/40 Brian Toal appears to be fully healed from his shoulder injury. He is a tackling maching and another coach on the field. I think he could challenge Clint Ingram for a starting job as a rookie. I see a need at the LB spot because I am assuming that the Jags do not re-sign Mike Peterson. Rd 5(156): Ramon Foster - OT/OG - Tennessee - 6'6" 325 Lbs 5.17/40 When Tennessee used to have an offense and culd run the ball, Foster was an integral part of an effective offensive line. Foster can be a road grader and can also pass protect. He can play both OTs and OF spots, but is probably best suited for the ORG spot. Rd 6(188): Shawn Bayes - WR - Kent St. - 5'10" 182 Lbs 4.35/40 A deep threat that can also play the slot position. While WR is not a big need, I do expect that the Jags will allow Reggie Williams to leave via Free Agency. The Jags will look at bringing in a spped WR that can stretch the field. This year Bayes is showing himself to be that kind of WR, at least in the MAC. Ramon Foster has been somewhat of a disappointment from some of us long time Vols fans this year... but he still is one of the best Vols OL... he just hasn't been as steady as he should have been being a Senior leader of the OL... he's disappeared in a couple of games this year as the Vols OL looked anything but the strenght of the team going into the 2008 season... I think the best OL for the Vols is OG Jacgues McClendon... he's 6'3" 320lbs... he broke a Vols team record for the brench press this year... he pressed 645lbs... he has very quick feet...pulls great and kicks out DL with ease and can get into the next level blocking downfield with no trouble at all... he's probably the most athletic of all the Vols linemen... that's on both sides of the ball... He's a junior and there has been talks of him coming out next year for the 2009 draft... but there has also been talk of him staying for the 2009 season too...guess we will just have to see at the end of the 2008 season to see if he stays or not... but he's a name to look for if he comes out...

Yeah he actually got behind Vontae Davis of Illinois last week and made a real nice catch. Looks like their go-to guy. Good college recevier, probably won't be much in the NFL.

| | In this mock draft, assuming the Jags draft 28th in each round, here is who the Jags could be taking: Rd 1(28): Brian Orapko - DE - Texas Imagine Brian Orapko, Derrick Harvey and Quentin Moses as part of the Jags DE rotation. Rd 2(60): Antonie Caldwell - OC/OG - Alabama Jags draft their heir apparent to the OC position. Rd 3(92): Tyson Jackson - DT - LSU Jags take a DT that can play DE on 1st down and short yardage situations. Check out the mock draft: http://walterfootball.com/draft2009.php |

Wow.
I would be rather happy with that haul, but I don't think Orakpo drops that far.

| Yeah Stig, Orakpo is going to be a real high pick...ESPECIALLY if he puts up those numbers that everyone expects him to put up in the off-season.
Shawn Merriman type player. He can put his hand on the ground or he can play up...just pins his ears back and gets to the QB.
Can't see him dropping past 15 under any scenario. A 3-4 or hybrid team will snatch him up with the quickness.
6'4", 260, will run in the 4.6 range (or better if he gets his 40-tech better), great first step, natural pass rusher, can play up or down, great strength.
Definitely a top rated player.
Would love for the Jags to get him, but it doesn't seem possible in terms of potential draft position (we are 3-3 right now, but we are going to win a bunch of our upcoming games...they are cupcakes).
Duke Robinson train...woop woop.
Another pass rusher, George Selvie will probably be an edge rusher at the next level. He could be a Gaines Adams like DE, but he has a real hard time keeping weight on. He is best at or around 245-250. Probably better off as a 34 or hybrid DE. |

| Wow.
That mock has Selvie going before Orakpo Greg Hardy and Michael Johnson. While I can understand the Hardy drop due to his lackluster effort, I don't know that Johnson will fall to #19. But as Stigma says, it ain't my website, so the guy can write what he wants.

| | I can see how Michael Johnson falls a bit because he has not been as productive in terms of stats as one might think he should be. It is not out of the realm of possibility that Johnson falls into the 20s. |
