Maybe he needs to get fired up a little bit?  How about a pickup basketball game at a local junior college or high school perhaps?

I think that might be the wrong kind of fired up. We don't need anyone else in jail!

I still think that might be the motivation he needs at this time.  He's shown a nice little penchant for wreaking havoc on the pickup basketball court.

McDaniel is good at clogging the middle in short-yardage situations, but otherwise, at least so far this season, he's just a guy.

Someone needs to get him worked up.  Perhaps telling him that the kid he knocked out got the last laugh in the end is still laughing at him would fire the big boy up?

He's been doing pretty well as a starter today.

He's doing an ok job, if you go back and re-watch the games. He'd doing a nice job vs. the run up the middle for the most part, and that's what his job is, it's very similar to why people get on Big John a lot, because Big John or T-Mac don't get the sacks people tend to think they're overrated or not performing, but it's not often you notice run stoppers, Tony's doing well, and remember he's still 23, Tony has endless potential as well

My thoughts exactly, he's still young. He DID knock down a pass this afternoon, thus far. He'll get there.
