Reggie Williams (Couldn't run a crisp route if his life depended on it)
Mike Peterson (slow and old....NEXT!)
Will James (should never play another down of Football ever again)
Marcedes Lewis (Not fit to be a TE, might make a good Tackle, couldn't catch a cold)
I would also bench Reggie Hayward for the remainder of the year just so Harvey gets more PT.

Well your Lame and boring and this post makes NO sence. you could of saved us all the time...
NEXT!
It makes plenty of sense. If you don't like my thread get the hell out and never post in it again. You tool.

Williams and Lewis need to be cut in the offseason. You need to be cut right now. I agree, this guy is done, stick a fork in him. |

| | Man, I hope this guy crawls back under the hole he came from and never comes back. This team doesn't need fans like this. |

| JT Jag (10/9/2008) Anyone who thinks we should bench Marcedes is a . He's had bad games, yes... but he's the best non-lineman blocker on the team and he's a better receiver then Angulo. If Estandia were doing ANYTHING this year he might get some consideration seeing how natural a receiver he's been, but you can't put your trust in a guy who's been just riding the bench.Hi-five! |

| | I don't think it is smart to bench anyone who is doing everything he can as good as he can on every play and has enough talent to make a difference. Reggie Hayward, obviously, has shown he is still a good defensive end and does not deserve to stay on the bench. Anyone who thinks our defensive line would be better without Reggie is either blind, ignorant, or stupid. The last thing you want is to have both startiers at defensive end be rookies while facing an offensive line better than yours. Harvey and Groves need time to learn the playbook and get ready for subsitution duty first so we won't see a dropoff in talent whenever a switch is made. Whoever thinks Mike Peterson is the problem with our defense need to wake up. He is one of 11 defensive players and even if he was benched somebody else will have a bad day. The real problem is behind him - no Reggie Nelson, no Drayton Florence, now no Pierson Prioleau (pronounced PRAY-lou) either. Good thing Florence played. Last year, many posters said they want to see Harris cut or trade away Matt Jones because he was terrible. After seeing what happened when Harris did not cut Jones in the offseason (Matt is the leading receiver on the team), I wonder why we have not been nice to Reggie Williams. What if #11 comes back next year and does what #18 is doing now? Did you ever think of that?

| | Lewis is still developing in my opinion yes its taken time but hes gone through different coordinators and he still shows alot of talent. ok he had some key drops this year. but today he really stepped it up. let the guy gain his confidence back and see how he does. i believe he is our best TE on the roster so theres no way we bench him. maybe draft another TE is a thought but benching him at this point wouldnt be the smart thing to do. |

| I don't think that anybody would argue the fact that Will James should be dropped like a bad habit. I don't know what the FO was thinking when they signed him. I also hate to admit it, but Mike Pete probable needs to go. I hate to see it happen, but everyone has to go at some point and time, and this is probably his. He's lost a step. I thought that he would play so much harder this year, with the contract issues and everything, but it sure doesn't look like it. As far as Reggie and Marcedes go, the jury is still out. Reggie makes some catches that are just unbelievable. However, he doesn't seem to be able to get open at all. He's also a heck of a blocker, and with the problems on the O-Line we can't afford to lose that. As far as Marcedes goes, there's no excuse for all of the dropped passes this season. But the last two weeks, he seems like he's starting to come around (I hope). Either way, I think that you have to give him one more season. Look at Matt, we were all ready to send him packing at the end of the season last year, and he's become the most reliable receiver on the team. |

| | Does anybody think Matt Jones improved this season because he heard us say he's not a good receiver? I mean there are people who get their motivation from hearing their critics doubt they have any ability. Or was the humility of being deactivated a few times (actually being named third-string quarterback) all he needed to change? Whatever it was, if Reggie Williams gets the same treatment, I hope that helps him next year. BTW before you say we need to get a tight end out of the draft, remember there is a guy named Tony Gonzalez looking for a trade.

| It was nice to see Koetter drawing up some plays to get Marcedes on the run in the middle of the field. He is a VERY athletic TE when matched up against LB. That was a nice catch/hit/run for the TD yesterday. I haven't really compared the 2 plays, but it looked similar to the route he ran for the TD against Pittsburgh, just a little longer. It will be nice to see more of that over the next few weeks.
