| Michael Johnson is a guy who seems to be rated so highly by draft guys due to his immense potential but through the first 5 games this year he has only 1.5 sacks, I understand he's 6'7", 260, but is all that good?

| | Judging players strictly on stats is like being a blind man at a NASCAR race. You really can't know what is really happening out on the track. If you saw Michael Johnson play, then you would know that he is much more than potential. He is a difference maker. His quickness and his ability to jump up and bat away passes is incredible in my opinion. Further his ability to drop back in coverage and break up passes 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage as well as intercept passes, make him a rare talent. Against Miss St. he was the a major factor in the Jackets dominating the Bulldogs. Now is it possible that he slips in the draft? I think that it is very possible. I see him falling somewhere between Pick 12 and Pick 21 in Rd 1 of the 2009 draft. In my mind this guy is every bit as good as Jevon Kearse when he came out of Florida. He is a PLAYMAKER! Once he gains some experience in the Pros, I can see him as a multiple Pro-Bowl Player. I like his skillset very much and would be very pleased if he ended up a Jag. |

| Oh, I've seen Michael Johnson play, I saw the whole Ga Tech/BC game 2 weeks ago, and he got a tipped pass for an INT, I'm just wondering if he'll ever realize that potential that he flashes, because this is his first season as a full time starter

| | Everyone has an opinion. You can believe whatever you like. In the end, your opinion means NOTHING, but hey if it makes you feel good about yourself then go with it. |

| | You opinion means nothing either unless you're running an NFL team, and to my knowledge you're just a wannabe GM posting like you're the NFL Draft God on message board I never said Michael Johnson was overrated, I was asking if it's concievable that he is overrated and I was asking people if they think he's a great player, I like him, I was just a little concerned when you see people such as McShay and Kiper rank him as a top 5 pick potentially and he only has 1.5 sacks through 5 games

| | I never claimed that my opinion means anything other than it is my opinion. Still, I can't help but value your opinion as less than NOTHING. The world is full of people, the majority of whom are so much smarter than you. Of course, that is just my opinion. |

| | Players are always rising and falling on different draft boards. Yet it never fails that someone will be watching a game and notice that a specific player somehow does not stand out as they feel that he should. They immediately feel that they have become experts on that player and can unilaterally declare to the world that the player in question is OVERRATED, because he did not live up to this person's expectation. Or maybe they read another thread on another board that has some other fellow who has previously declared to the world that the subject player is OVERRATED, because he did not live up to that persons expectation, so the second person PARROTS what the first guy says. Always, these self declared experts think that they are so much smarter than everyone else, when clearly the exact opposite is so abundantly evident. |

| | Look, Stigma I never claimed he was overrated, and never proclaimed myself the next Mel Kiper or Todd McShay, I simply posted this thread to ask what other people's thoughts were about Michael Johnson as a player. I've seen 3 Ga Tech games this year (vs. BC, vs. Va Tech, vs. Duke) I simply am just a little perplexed by Johnson. Just because he hasn't been a full-time starter before this year and he has 11.5 career sacks, and has 1.5 sacks through the first 5 games. I've watched him play and there is no doubt he has all the potential in the world and he IS a playmaker, the one play that definently comes to mind is the play vs. BC when he dropped into coverage and batted a ball up and it was picked off by Ga Tech I don't understand why me asking what other's opinions on Michael Johnson are is offending to you because you read it wrong
