I would personally take Griffin over Nelson because I like my FS to be able to lay the wood and that is something Griffin clearly excells in over Nelson. .

That is patently false. Nelson is by far the better hitter. Again, Griffin spends more time getting run over.

I only remember Griff getting ran over once so your argument is stupid. BTW Reggie may be better in coverage eventually (def not now) But Griff will always be the better tackler. People get ran over it happens you cant name me one LB or saftey or corner that doesnt.

now nelson doesnt lay the wood?? o-m-g

nelson > griffin

you are on a jaguars board, and you guys just keep going with this... why? cuz you have nothing better to do? apparently not.

my FS would be faster, better in coverage... hmmm nelson is both of those things. he's ed reed Jr.

ill take ed reed over any safety in the league

Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21

So because you only remember him getting run over once my argument is stupid?  What a compelling reply.  I guess Nelson earned the nickname "the eraser" because his skills were lacking.  I guess the general concensus of Nelson being a better tackler is also lacking.  Please let me know when you actually have a counter argument that contains something beyond "because I saw it you're stupid".  I think I just heard the recess bell.  It is nap time. Move along.

And clarify where I said no one gets run over.  I specifically stated Griffin spends "more time" on his back.  Read.  Comprehend.  Read again.  Process.  Then read one more time.  You'll find your responses are a bit more accurate.

Guys were all missing something here.

Titans are 7th in Passing Defense

Jaguars are 26th in Passing Defense

Titans have allowed 860 yards through the air.

Jaguars have allowed 1,186 yards through the air.

Titans have allowed 1 touchdown pass.

Jaguars have allowed 9 touchdown pass.

Titans have been thrown on a 170 times with teams only completing a 100 passes.

Jaguars have been thrown on 159 times with teams only completing a 104 passes.

Titans win. Our secondary has improved tremendously from what it was last year.

Your missing something here

QBs Jaguars played against: Kerry Collins, Trent Edwards, Peyton Manning, Matt Schaub, Ben Roethlisberger

Qbs Titans played against: David Garrard(having sub-par season so far), Carson Palmer(has been mediocre since 07, Matt Schaub, Gus Frerotte(LOL), Joe Flacco(rookie)

I wonder who played worse QBs?

I am not saying who is the better safety because to be honest it doesn't matter right now because they are too young to tell. It's obvious that both of them are very talented and will be fighting each other for pro bowl votes for years to come but I really don't know what you are talking about when you say the general consensus is that Nelson is the better tackler. I remember before the draft that the biggest knock on Nelson was his tackling and one of Griffin's biggest strong points happens to be tackling so as far as the rest of the world is concerned, Griffin has the reputation of being a better tackler. The rest of the football world could be wrong and you could be right but after watching both of these players play. I am confident in the fact that Griffin is a better tackler. Disagree, that's fine, but don't sit there and try to say that it's general opinion that Nelson is a great tackler when most people on this message board, including jag's fans agree that Griffin is better at stopping the run. I think the general opinion is that Nelson is a better center fielder and Griffin is better in run support which is exactly what TN wants. Again, they are both very good players so there is no need to put one down to talk up another.

Obviously I watch the Titans more than the jags but and I think it's safe to say you watch jax more than TN so for you to say that Griffin is on his back all the time is just flat out erroneus.

i thought that Nelson was better coming out but Griffin has been coming on bigtime.  I think I got to see him play a full season before I can say one way or the other.  I will say this though.  He looks like a solid pick for sure.  I think the titans front seven help him out but I am more impressed with finnegan than griffin.  I think Finnegan is going to be a major star at CB.  I love they way he plays.  He plays nasty and even goes after the veterans.  That is the kind of DB I want.

Why the name TitanJag?  I am a Jag fan who has a sister married to a now former Titan player.  Thank god he left in Free Agency.

I thought about that, but that doesn't stop the amount of times we've been thrown on by other teams.

I wonder if missing two starters and your starting nickle back being on IR has anything to do with it?
