Shack's love affair with his chubby little buddy and his desperate desire to prop him up with first round picks at WR and TE cost this team a lot over the last five years. Had we drafted OL and DL those first four years, it's certainly thought-provoking to wonder just how good we might be right now. And yes, he should have been fired for that monumentally stupid sequence of decisions. I have no idea, now that his little Mini-Me whom he was reliving his career through is just a bad memory (okay, maybe a mediocre memory), whether he is actually a decent GM who was stuck in a self-induced rut of throwing good money after bad or Phil Savage's flunkie who happened into a lucky promotion.  We need lineman, not skill players. |
