| | OK so in 2008, the Jags traded the farm to move up and draft Derrick Harvey in Rd 1 and they traded a couple of cows to move up and draft Quentin Groves in Rd 2. So far the Jags pass rush is non-existant. Assuming that both improve over the course of this season, will these two be enough to create a pass rush in 2009? It appears that Terrell Suggs brokered a deal with Baltimore that will allow him to leave in Free Agency next season. If he becomes available should the Jags try to sign him? As a pass rush OLB, does his game translate to the 4-3 DE position? If so, can the Jags even afford to pay him what he will want which has got to be Jared Allen type money. What do you think? |

If this was before we drafted those 2 DE's, then I'd take it into consideration.
Like Vic says, you've got to have patience with your top draft choices. You've got to strip them of everything and teach everything anew.
I'm confident in Groves and happy with Harvey. |

everyone on this board knows I want Suggs but I mean with 2 rookies on the rise and he's sure to demand a huge price do we need him? i'd be ecstatic about it but then again he'd cost us 8 mil per year just about and we still have Hayward and Spicer.

| Not to change the subject, but did anybody know Detriot's Roy Williams will be a FA next year? Whoever the Lions new GM is probably won't let him go without offering a big money deal, but maybe he would like a change of scenery to a SB competitor such as the Jags where he would be the no.1 guy? I'd like for a receiver to be the top FA target next year

Come on, Base. They just spent a bunch of money on Jerry Porter. They are not going to go after another WR next year with an even higher price tag.
As far as Suggs goes, I say no. We already have Groves to fill the small, quick DE roll. And he would probably be too expensive after what we just paid Harvey.

| I'm sorry that the two seconds having Will James at CB and Sensabaugh at FS (how dumb was that, by the way, he was meant for SS!) gave the DEs to get pressure wasn't enough.
Imagine if they had Nelson and Mathis out there.. because Harvey was always a half second from destroying the QB. |

| | With all the owners losing so much of their personal wealth in the stock market, the FA might be pretty cheap next year!!! |
