I have to admit, I didn't think Matt would make the team this year but I give the guy credit, he's taking advantage of the opportunity the coaches have given him. Now I'd like to see the speed he supposedly possesses by breaking a tackle and out running a DB for the distance.

Could it be this week?

Maybe, but at least Matt is producing well....

unlike another complete & utter waste of the 9th overall pick in the draft.

and also, unlike our starting TE, who runs like a giraffe.

Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

Has he caught a pass where he legitimately had a chance to break a tackle afterward? All of his catches seem to be quick slants that end with a Safety in perfect position to knock his head off.

Matt Jones is on pace for a 1,000 yard season, and if I'm not mistaken he'd be the first since JSmooth. However, its really early in the season to say he's a lock to break a 1,000 yards - but look at the games we've played:

Titans= Has the looks of one the best defenses, its painful to say, but its true
Bills= On a hot streak, especially their defensive unit
Indy= We threw the ball? oh yeah, only when the running drive was in jeopardy, and then we threw it to Jones. He could have easily dropped a pass and stalled a drive on 3rd and long, but he didn't disappoint

As the season goes on Garrard will become more efficient and our passing game should pick up

Jones is looking like a stud comparatively, because we have a really bad receiving corps and a passing game that isn't used

At least Matt has some athleticism.

Watching Reggie Williams play WR is like watching the Tin Man line up at the flanker.

Reggie doesn't catch the ball with his hands most of the time, almost always loses out on one on one battles when the pass is high & deep, often clumsily falling down in the process, and simply lacks the skills it takes to be the kind of weapon that Larry Fitz, Terrell Owens, Braylon Edwards, and so on, are.

Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

ive asked myself the same thing but usually find myself wanting him just to get down so that he doesn't break/twist/pull one of those rangy legs of his.

What's the sudden issue the whimp has with Reggie Williams?

He's one of the best athletes on the team and 100x more a man then the whimp could ever imagine to be.

If we could get him the ball beyond 10 yards from the line of scrimmage he might be able to do that. But as it is, we are not calling those plays.
