Harvin stat line for today

13 catches 186 yards 1 td with a long of 43 yards
10 rushes 82 yards 1 td

Not too shabby.

Please don't respond with "the Gators lost". It wasn't Harvin's fault and would be irrelevant to this topic.

How many fumbles?

Hmmm. Good observation. But after watching Harvin for 2 and a half years now, I think it is safe to say that he doesn't have a fumbling problem.

I agree with what you said.

But i think that Harvin could be a decent slot receiver in the NFL, Then again, I've said that about so many other Gator receivers and they haven't done anything in the NFL.

If I was picking and I had the choice, I would take Maclin, He seems really legit, And Gator receivers never pan out.

percy harvin is not a typical gator reciever.  the kid is stacked.  he has built his bubble right and he is no slouch in the weight room.  he won;'t have theproblem dealing with contact that his predecessors had.  i think that he is going to be a dynamic big play reciever at the next level.  and he is actually a quick twitch athlete.  before, there were a lot of 4.5 guys in a good system.

We will all have to make the choice between what is right, and what is easy.

Give freely unto others, be brave in the face of your enemies, love those who hate you for those who hate you will only win if you hate them back, be generous with praise-it costs nothing, love all men, and fear not for he will come.

There will come a day when the courage of good men will fade away and the tyranny of the weak will destroy mankind..., but today does not have to be that day!

remembe this day men, for it is the curse of man that they forget...

Chad Jackson has a lot of the characteristics that Harvin does...great weight room guy...productive college player...will test well...

Harvin will have the same issues Ted Ginn has. He isn't a traditional wide out and will have issues transitioning.

Teams need to use him as a situational player. You can't use this kid like a traditional WR because he isn't a traditional WR and will need to be coached up in the pros to become one.

It will take this kid a while to transition...bank on that.

In the interim. Use him as a special weapon, not an every down player. Use him on end-arounds, use him sparingly in routes that utilize his speed and quickly get him the football in space.

Work on those elaborate routes down the road.

But, he'll probably be drafted high and be forced into doing things that he probably shouldn't early on.

Good football player, but not a defined position...

A huge difference I see between Ginn and Harvin is Ginn is a long strider and Harvin is not. I see Harvin as a Lee Evans type guy at the next level. Harvin's route running is very very underrated.

Yeah I was gonna say Evans or Santanna Moss. If he is successful, he could end up being similar to those guys. Moss has surprised me this year. He is better than I thought. I still wish we would have drafted Evans when we had the chance.

He does have what I'd call a "better build" than maybe Hilliard or Caldwell. He looks like he could run on those legs for 100 years, no problem.

I think he might can make it in the NFL and possibly pretty big if he gets with the right program because of his pysical attributes he should go fairly high. I wouldn't be suprised to see him go round 1 and it wouldn't suprise me if it's Jacksonville.

I watched a good bit of the Arkansas game today which was really the first time this year I really focused on Harvin and he looks OK to me.

I think it's becoming obvious that Maclin is the superior player. Every time I watch him and Missouri play, he stands out more and more. He is the better college player. It's also becoming obvious that Harvin will be nothing more than a gimmick player in the NFL while Maclin should be a bonafide star.

Percy Harvin...EASILY..because he does EVERTYHING. people cry GIMMICK all the time...but 200 total yards is 200 total yards HOWEVER you look at it. and if it was so easy......why doesnt EVERYONE do it? Percy can play WR...a lil RB...and return for you. also is better at breaking tackles.

How does it translate to the next level? Ted Ginn anyone?
