| Do you watch Mizzou games? Every commentator for every game says that Daniel is 5'9 or 5'10. EVERY SINGLE GAME they mention this.
When a WR is rated as the top rated prospect out of high school it generally means that he is the top football ATHLETE (not necessarily best player) in the country. There's a difference when they judge WR talent. This position is so dependent on athleticism and they rate prospects mostly on this characteristic. And "way up there" is far different than top overall.
I didn't say everyone outside of the SEC is slow. I said that the SEC focuses on speed. Urban Meyer has repeatedly said that his number one goal is to be the FASTEST team in the country. Many SEC teams have this same mentality. Harvin happens to be the fastest player on probably the fastest team in the country. Big 12 teams have fast players but it's the goal of most SEC teams to have a guy with freakish speed at EVERY position. That's the difference.
Maclin only played one good defense last year (Oklahoma). How did he do? I'll give you a hint: not very well. Maclin has out produced Harvin? Possibly. But he is the only threat they have on that team. So that's understandable. That's why I originally said that if Harvin were on Mizzou instead of Maclin, Harvin would have better numbers because he would get so many more touches.

| All this is a moot point because Michael Crabtree is easily the best WR in the country

| No matter though, the point being quiet, or debateable.... ...Crabtree will be a very good NFL wideout. He has the size at 6 foot 3 and 215, and the speed 4.46 to 4.54.

opjagfan91 (9/25/2008) Maclin hands down. Florida recievers don't learn how to run routes, although they do become excellent blockers.
Percy can run routes. That's not the problem.
When, exactly, has he learned to run routes? Not from playing running back and not from operating out of the variated Wildhog formation. I'm sure he is able to run some routes but I feel safe assuming that Maclin is the superior route runner.
I don't know where he learned, but he learned or knew beforehand. I've been to plenty of gator practices even though I'm a nole and the kid can run routes. He runs very crisp routes. If you don't wanna take my word for it, then fine, I don't care. I'm just saying what I saw.

That being the case, I'm glad to hear that his route running is crisp because that means good things for Florida and eventually Harvin's draft slot.

I edited it, my bad with the spelling of moot, but what I was getting at is that hands down Michael Crabtree is the best WR in the nation, and I would take Darrius Heyward-Bey over either Maclin or Harvin in the NFL and next year if he comes out Illinois Soph. Arrelious Benn, I think he's a Andre Johnson/Anquan Boldin kind of player Story about Benn, my sophomore year in HS we scrimmaged Dunbar (His HS) his Sr. year and he ran a 3 yard hitch route and our CB came up and stuck him on the spot and everyone was all hyped up and yelling because everyone knew Benn was a top 10 recruit and we scrimmage Dunbar every year and we finally made a good play against him, but the next play Arrelious ran a go route and when he was about 5 yards off the line our coach said "oh sh1111t", 80 yard TD. Not to mention he crackbacked our best LB at least 3 or 4 times. He's a physical freak when you see him in person and that was 2 years ago.

I remember watching Benn on Future Phenoms and being blown away by his athletic ability. Crabtree will be an interesting prospect to evaluate especially if he runs a slow 40 because he seems to play pretty fast despite rumors that he will run slow. That being said he has great hands and a nose for the soft spots in zones.

| mcol126 (9/25/2008) You obviously didn't watch the Michigan vs. Florida game. Michigan never caught Harvin from behind. What they did was blitz Tebow to the point where he couldn't get the ball into the hands of Percy and the other guys. I guess you could say Michigan's receivers ran away from Florida's dbs but everyone did that last year. So I don't see what you mean. I was at the game and he got ran down at least once.

That guy had an angle. Nice try though. I didn't see any of the people Harvin blew by come close to catching up to him. Also that was probably the 5th or 6th touch in a row Harvin had; he was tired. |
