| Speaking of not getting resigned, how bout Reggie Williams? Unless he busts out here soon, I don't see him matching his 2007 10 TD performance and getting resigned. Especially if Porter does anything at all when he finally gets back. If Porter and Williams both do nothing, then I see a WR being drafted some where in the first 3 rounds.

| I see Reggie being re-signed he won't be super expensive and he does an excellent job of blocking downfield for Freddy and MoJo, and he's a Jack Del Rio kinda football player, Reggie will score about 6 or 7 TD's this year I'm guessing and will be re-signed

| The Jags need a pass rushing Disruptive DT. I think the Dt is the guy who creates a consistent pass rush for a team. I realize that they don't get the sacks but a DT that can get in the QBs face makes the QB move side to side right into the arms of the DEs. Oh messes up the QBs rhythm thereby causing bad throws that are intercepted.
I know Big John is good at taking up space but he's no pass rusher. That may be the reason why we haven't been able to find a DE that could consistently get sacks. We never had anyone creating havoc in the middle of the field. John needs someone beside him that can get to the passer. It would help the whole defense. |

I think if Reggie gets offered more elsewhere he bolts. Of course a lot also depends on Porter's and Williamson's production.

| Stigma (9/22/2008)
Big John (9/22/2008)
Stigma (9/22/2008) No doubt that Spiller is a talent, but I just have a hunch that he will fall because he is not real big and he can't carry the load. He is a complimentary RB who I think is better served catches passes out of the backfield than trying to run through the tackles. I think he falls to the last half of Rd 3.
I think he is very much in the mold of Chris Johnson of Tennessee. They are almost identical in size and Spiller is every bit as quick, maybe not on the track, but on the field they look the same.
I don't think that Spiller is anywhere near as fast as Chris Johnson. I could be wrong, but I don't think he is anywhere near as tough as Johnson either. If Spiller were all that he would not be sharing the load with James Davis. Personally I don't think Davis is all that so if Spiller is then why is he not showing it on the field? To me Spiller has not carried Clemson, while Johnson defintely carried East Carolina last year. Why is that?
Don't get me wrong, I think if used properly Spiller can contribute to an NFL team, but to overuse him is to invite injury.
It's because Tommy Bowden is a terrible coach. With the talent at Clemson, they should be in the top ten or top five right now. It's all on Bowden.
PS. Don't forget Willie Parker was a backup at UNC.

| Maybe I'm being a homer, but A.J. Edds would be a nice mid-round pick to compete with Ingram. He's all over the field and covers WR's in nickel sets a lot of the time. I'm also a big fan of Ivy out of WVU, Curry out of Wake, and Follet out of Cal.
Also, I don't know if anyone heard... but Dante Love, WR Ball St. suffered a career ending injury. He was a guy I had my eye on.

| Larry (9/22/2008) Mike Pete's "replacement" is already on the roster in Daryl Smith. Once Smith moves inside, Durant and Ingram would start on the outside.
At that point, you are just looking for good, quality depth. Not worth spending a first rounder on unless he is of the most elite...like Rey Maualuga.
Not sure why you are on the Jamon Meredith bandwagon, Stigma. He isn't very good, IMO.Total agreement. The guy is a hardcore beast.

Curry is a good player. All week leading up to the Wake game, Jimbo and Bobby were praising Curry and Alphonso Smith non-stop. You could tell they were worried because those guys are such smart, instinctive football players. Then both ended up with picks in game as did most of the defense.

| Jarrett Dillard would be a starting WR on this team.

Curry of Wake Forest is a Top 15 selection who could go in the Top 10 like Jerod Mayo of Tennessee. I am still assuming the Jags draft in the mid-20's not the Top 15. |
