Johnathan Ogden, Cant forget about him too right TMD?

haha....

Wasn't Allen playing last year?

I don't recall an injury forcing his retirement, like Ogden.

It was just a suggestion, based on the dire situation the interior of the OL finds itself in.

I really dont like you.

LOL.. dude..
He can't be anywhere close to being in shape.. much less football shape.. and then you have to ask the guy to get the playbook.

There's no way. I'd be totally against it. You can't hop in and out of football like that.

Do you guys even use your heads anymore? Is it so hard to come up with intelligent and productive answers? Or do you just get a chub when you see TMD made a post and can't wait to log in and disagree with anything he says no matter what the case?

Not in shape? He played last year! From what I read, he played pretty well too. The Niners actually asked him to not retire and come back, but asked him to take a pay cut.

Would he come here? He is already a hall of famer and a chance to win another ring. I would say yes.

Would he take a pay cut? For the same reasons mentioned above, I would say yes. Even if he didn't want to take a pay cut, who really cares at this point. He would fill a BIG hole. Pun intended.

Is he in 100% game shape? Probably not, but were some of the guys we brought in?

I'm not saying I want to run out here and sign the guy. All I'm saying is keep an open mind to a possible solution. Who really cares who posted the stinkin thread. dang.

Larry Allen is not out of football shape and the guy can still play. I doubt he'll leave retirement though.

Jagwired'd is to moderators as a wrongfully accused killer is to the court of law.

I show off my anger after Jags losses. I can't help myself.

Are you kidding me? Check in another thread and TMD and I are on the terms with a different discussion. I don't bash posters, but I will bash an idea I disagree with. You come on here and bash a poster for having an opinion. Hypocrite much?

Anyways, this is a ridiculous idea.

Don't try to tell me he's in shape. What do you think he has been doing since last December? C'mon buddy. Be serious. Some of the guys we brought in were recently cut.. so yeah, they're in better shape than him.

Also, what do we have to pay this guy to be a back-up?

I love TMD's version of reality.  If Shack does something its  a bad move for the Jags.  If he doesnt do it, he is an for not doing.

First off, maybe I jusmped the gun to include you in the quote. You usually bring something to the table and are spot on with discussions. It just gets old that people dismiss other peoples ideas/theories/suggestions without doing any research on their own and form an educated response.

Second of all, you are probably right. The idea of bringing in a 36 year old offensive lineman is probably a ridiculous idea. It was at least worth a discussion and some research to see where the guy is at and what he is up to though. He is or was a beast and he is a HOFer.

I don't think Larry Allen's contract was done with San Fran. With that the Jags would have to trade for him or San Fran outright release him. I think they have rights to him until whenever his contract is up. I'm not sure about this so don't jump on me if I'm wrong.

I was a big LA fan. I remember the first time I saw him. It was a Monday night football game Dallas v NO. Troy threw 2 pick and Larry Allen ran down the LB's to save a TD on both occasions.

With that said he had a real hard time last year and didn't have much left so I don't think he wants to play anymore. Just speculation.

I'm not bashing TMD. But one thing the Jags did good last year was pick up guys to help out with injuries when the season started so I have faith they are bringing in decent players. Remember Sammy Knight and Grady Jackson. Think they filled in good for the team last year.
