If you knew your Cubs history, they can choke at any time of year.
It's OK though, I'll take 4 game lead with 19 to play. Even if the Brewers catch them, they'll make it as a Wild Card but that's worst-case scenario. Hopefully.

| Offensive Line. I think it is time for the Jaguars to truly focus on the line in the draft. I'd take the best available lineman, tackle or guard.
The Jaguars were very high on Jeffrey Otah this past season, so you know what you are looking for when the Jaguars evaluate offensive linemen. Big, mean, and aggressive.
Andre Smith would be nice, but will be gone well before we pick. Eugene Monroe is very very good and fits the mold. Might be out of our range. Ciron Black and Phil Loadholt...although I question Loadholt's killer instinct as a lineman. He doesn't always finish. Duke Robinson is my kind of player. Just ridiculously good and would have been the top guard if he came out a year ago (yes, over Brandon Albert).
Defensive Tackle. It could use a real youth infusion. The top tackles on our roster are hitting or over 30. We got rid of Stroud. Henderson doesn't have a lot of years left. Time to bring in a young stud that fits our mold of mean, nasty, and big. I like Vince Oghobaase, Fili Moala, Demonte Bolden and Antonio Dixon intrigue me but they aren't first rounders. Gerald McCoy might be the best DT in the country, but he is a RSSo.
Tight End. Not one of the monsters like Marcedes or Estandia...but someone a little more versatile. James Casey is one of the best TEs in the country and no one knows who he is. Kid is a stud.
Those are the areas I think the Jaguars need players at. OL is definitely #1 priority with DT #2. I'd like to see the team get something different for the offense as well, which is why I mentioned a tight end that is versatile. |

| If you want a little TE, I'd go after Beckum... But I think he might shoot up like Vernon Davis did.

6'4" 250 (James Casey) isn't little!
I'm not just talking about a smaller TE...I'm talking more of a guy who is versatile. Can line up from the backfield, split out wide, etc.
As much as I think he is all potential and no substance, Corny Ingram would fit the mold as well. Beckum to an extent would as well, but he isn't a guy who can line up in the backfield, ala a Cooley or Clark. Casey, Ingram, those are the types that can. Cody Slate would be another. All is moot, considering Casey won't be in this year's draft anyway. I still think he is a stud though. Slate wouldn't be available this year either barring a surprise entry. |

Well, he's not big either.
I guess he's more "normal" in regards to a TE? lol

| | OL, DT, and CB are the biggest needs right now. None of our TE's have shown much. I still advocate drafting the TE in round 4-6. |

| | need #1: o-line-what can you say, it needs work. The patches this year are decent but need youth to solidify the line. Mester is getting old and Barnes is only decent at Lt, he would be better served as a back-up #2:te-Mercedes is under utilized and Estanida is good but we could use a Heap or Shockey type that will block well and catch #3:wr-how many recievers have we drafted and still don't have a deep threat? #4:dt-Tony McDaniel is always hurt, Henderson and Meier are getting old and Landri is not a starting caliber DT in this league. #5 qb-we need a developmental qb to take the helm when Garrard is gone
duvaLLL32 (10/12/2008)
this defense is laughable. im watching the game and literally laughing in pity. 3 straight throws to Marshall 3 big gains. this team will go 6-10. mark my words thats my prediction You're words have been marked | |
