| I seriously can't wait to bump this thread when the o-line is healthy and Garrard plays wonderfully.
You people are a joke. You panic over one game and bash the starting QB, who played very well, because he got sacked a lot.
DO YOU REALLY THINK IT'S A COINCIDENCE the running game couldn't do anything, and Garrard was getting sacked a lot?
Really?
That was Garrard's fault?
Or maybe logic would dictate both were having trouble because the O-line was in shambles.
Use some freaking logic, seriously.

WOW, you guys are ridiculous.
Maybe you should watch the game?
Should Garrard switch to left-handed so he can see Kyle coming next time? Maybe he should play shotgun from 15 yards back so Haynesworth can't get to him?
I just gave you stats and facts.
Garrard's INTs were not a factor in the game. And the sacks have nothing to do with him. He's trying to win a football game in a situation where he had everything going against him.
He also has another TD and we maybe win the game if Northcutt doesn't turn around and peek on the ball before making his cut and losing himself.
He can't run routes for the receivers too. When is Garrard sucking in a game going to finally be his fault? I dunno. How about lets let him actually play a bad game first?

| deLiGHT (9/7/2008) Garrard completed 65% of his passes, had a TD and two picks.
One pick was something he had to do, because the O-line couldn't block anything, and they had to try and get in field goal range. And troy williamson had the ball ripped out of his hand.
The other pick didn't matter, because we got it right back thanks to Harvey.
So where did Garrard play poorly again?
You guys are stupid and need to wake up.
Garrard can't block for himself too. He was the only offensive player on the field this game. Maurice couldn't even do anything because they had to keep him back blocking.
The entire o-line is in shambles with injury, and so is the WR corps.
And you blame Garrard? Did Garrard miss 3 tackles on a 3rd and 15? Did Garrard miss a chip-shot field goal?
He also has another TD and we maybe win the game if Northcutt doesn't turn around and peek on the ball before making his cut and losing himself in the endzone
What a bunch of whiners, i'm sorry. If Garrard plays bad, then fine, call him on it, I don't care. But he certainly didn't play bad this game, especially considering the situation. You guys criticizing are ridiculous fair-weather fans at their finest. The O-line didn't play great as it was depleted, but Garrard did hold the ball to long on quite a few plays including the last play of the game. On that play, his O-line gave him 5 or 6 seconds (which is double what he should need) to throw the ball. That ball has to come out there. You have to give your guys a chance. He also ran out of bounds 2 or 3 times BEHIND THE LINE OF SCRIMAGE!! Why take those sacks? Why not just throw it away?

He was good in this game?
When can Garrard get criticized without Leftwich being brought up as a deflection from the play?

Bro, you have to expect mistakes and happy feet to happen when you are facing that kind of pressure. It's nothing new. It's to be expected when you generate so much pressure on the QB. Garrard was the only offensive player on the team today, and he was trying desperately to avoid pressure and not just concede another play. If you wanted him to throw the ball away every time he was going to get sacked, he would have completed 2 passes all game. That's how bad it was. Instead, he completed 65% and very likely could have had two TDs if Northcutt finishes his route before peeking at the ball in the endzone.
When you put pressure on the QB, mistakes are to be expected. It's the entire reason you try to generate pressure on the QB.

| Sorry, I brought up Leftwich only because he would have got completely LIT UP in a similar performance.
I like Garrard, I liked Leftwich, I like whoever is a good person and plays for our team. I'm sorry but Garrard could have avoided some of those 7 sacks and not ended drives. |

When it comes down to running out of bounds behind the line of scimage or throwing the ball away?? I'll take the later. Who cares about the completion percentage? Is it an escalator in his contract? Why take the loss?

David Carr is the perfect example of the excuse that QB sacks are caused only by the O-line and not the QB's decisions.
(although in this circumstance the o-line caused at least 3) |
