Denver as the 3 seed? Really?

I just see San Diego flopping this year. Partially due to Norv Turner, partially due to what my gut is telling me - which is I think they will go on to have a rash of issues, already beginning with Merriman. I see Tomlinson possibly at the beginning of a decline, ala Shaun Alexander a few years back. Gates & Rivers are returning from major injury....

It's not that I don't think San Diego has the talent, they have the talent to go all the way....

I just think the whole season is going to blow up for them.

As for Denver.....I'm probably letting my Cutler/ Shanahan bias lead that pick. I think Cutler is going to have a pro bowl caliber year.

I don't think seeds 3 or 4 are going to have records over 10-6, though. Cleveland could win that division by default. I'm not a Mike Tomlin fan after the way PGH played down the stretch/ or given Tomlin's coaching gaffes in that playoff game. I see Tomlin's HC career similarly emulating Ray Rhodes' when he started out, i.e. good record when he started, only to get progressively worse as the players stopped buying into him.

Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

I am with you on Cutler. I think he could be a superstar but they don't have the running game they need and their defense is weak.

AFC

1) Patriots
2) San Diego
3) Jacksonville
4) (AFC North is a toss up but I say Steelers since its that anemic)
5) Indianapolis
6) Houston

NFC

1) Dallas
2) Seattle
3) Saints
4) Green Bay
5) Cardinals
6) Carolina

AFC predictions: Wildcard:
Jacksonville over Houston
Indy over Steelers,

Divisional:
Patriots over Indy
Jaguars over San Diego

AFCC:
Jaguars over Patriots (they stun the world and end the Patriots dreams of another undefeated season.)

NFC predictions: Wilidcard:
NO over Carolina
Green Bay over Cardinals,

Divisional:
Green Bay over Seattle
Dallas over NO

NFCC: Dallas over GB.

SB: Jaguars over Dallas 23-17

I just see the Jags get all fired up like the Redskins/Giants last season (no one will die though) and just playing lights out. knocking off the Pats by a FG then carrying that momentum in and beating Dallas the very next week. flame me about teal-aid but all the Jags have to do is make the playoffs and then getting Meester back, Porter at full throttle, and Harvey developed we will rain hell on our competition!

Reggie Williams + David Garrard = 10 TD's!

I try not to base much on the preseason but he looked awesome. I think if he can be that running threat, they are a borderline playoff team.

Well KC did it two years ago. However, I think people are underrating the Titans and Bills.

I don't underrate Tennessee, I think they are very good.

As a matter of fact I think they are very similar to Minnesota, only with a much worse QB. Yes, much worse than even Tarvaris.

The QB position will be what keeps Tennessee from being a playoff team, because otherwise, they are strong, especially where it matters on the front lines.

random predicitons:

AP doesn't break 1000 yards and doesn't have a game near 200 yards. (gets injured as well...)

the Browns go belly up and get torched by the pass. trading away Leigh Bodden, losing your starting CB to injury and having Terry Cousin at nickel or starting does not help your cause in the slightest way.... Browns don't make the playoffs.
