Garrard is a very good QB for this team, but he is getting up there in his age...like 30.
Soon enough in the next couple of years we will have to be looking for his replacement. What QB do you think in the next couple of years would suit here. I like Tebow, or Sam Bradford out of Oklahoma.

[b]My Week 6 Prediction!
Jaguars 28-Broncos 21

David Garrard- 205 yards 1Td.
Maurice Jones-Drew- 106 rushing yards 2td.
Matt Jones- 6 Rec 84 yards.
Jerry Porter- 3 rec 56 yards 1 td
Derrick Harvey 1 sack.

I'm not sold on Tebow or Bradford.

There are a lot of guys. I'm not sold on most of them yet. Here are some guys for the next couple years.

-Cullen Harper, Clemson
-Colt McCoy, Texas
-Zac Robinson, OK St.
-Rudy Carpenter, ASU
-Mark Sanchez, USC
-Mitch Mustain, USC
-Jonathan Crompton, Tennessee
-Matt Stafford (won't have any chance at), UGA

Those are just some off the top of my head.

Most of them to me seem like Brodie Croyle types.
Especially Mustain,Crompton,and McCoy.

Stafford [like you said] we will have NO shot at but he seems a little bit over rated to me, more like a lineart

Stafford has 10x the arm strength of Leinart. They are completely different players. Stafford is like Jay Cutler.

I was just saying that i think he would have a career in the NFL like Leinart.

A guy that I am interested in is Nate Davis out of Ball State. He's a rising Junior this year, but if he duplicates what he did last season, he might come out early. He is a bit on the short side, but has some incredible numbers, albeit against lesser competition.

He has a lot of work to do to be ready for the NFL, but I think he could develop into a nice find.

Here is some information about him from NFLDraftScout.com:

Nate Davis, QB, Ball State

Name: Nate Davis
College: Ball State

Height: 6-2
Weight: 218
Position: QB
Pos2:

40 Time: 4.82 40 Low: 4.74 40 High: 4.93
Projected Round: 2-3
Rated number 5 out of 132 QB's

First team All-MAC. Started all 13 games at quarterback to earn second letter . . . set the Ball State single-season record with 3,667 passing yards, shattering the previous mark of 2,377 by Neil Britt in 1983 . . . attempted 478 passes to set a Ball State single-season record . . . completed a school record 270 passes . . . threw a Ball State single-season record 30 touchdown passes, shattering the previous mark of 18 set by Joey Lynch in 2005 and tied by Davis in 2006 . . . threw for a career-high 422 yards at Nebraska, which ranks as the third best single-game mark in Ball State history . . . had five games of 300 or more yards passing . . . attempted a season high 48 passes at Western Michigan and at Indiana, which rank as the second highest single-game marks in Ball State annals . . . completed a season-high 26 passes vs. Nebraska and vs. Indiana, which tie for the seventh best single-game records in Ball State history . . . tied his career high with four touchdown passes vs. Eastern Michigan, which ties for the fifth highest single-game total in Ball State history . . . threw three touchdown passes in five games -- at Navy, at Nebraska, vs. Buffalo, vs. Western Kentucky and vs. Toledo . . . led a Ball State offense which set single-season records for points scored (379), yards passing (3,413), passes completed (248), passes attempted (434), yards in total offense (5,180) and first downs (261) . . . passed for over 200 yards in 10-of-12 games . . . rushed for a career high two touchdowns vs. Toledo, while also passing for three TDs in that same game . . . rushed a career-high 12 times for a career-best 64 yards, including a career-long run of 46 yards at Illinois . . . ranks 17th in the nation in total offense and 23rd in the nation in passing efficiency.

Go heavy early.

I think 2009 looks like a fairly weak draft for QB's at this point.

I think if the Jags are going to go for a quality QB they might have to compromise some other positions they are going to need to draft for unless they hit a deal like when Miami got Chad Henne in the third round. That was a real bargain IMHO.

I don't think there's going to be that kind of depth at QB in the upcoming draft so they'd have to go higher maybe for the same quality QB and they also have issues at WR and maybe RB they still need to address.

The next 2 drafts look like they could be really strong drafts for RB and unless they are going to wait til Taylor retires to launch a rocket they might want to consider firing up the grill.

I think QB, RB and WR will be big priority over the next two drafts for Jacksonville and they need to get as good as players as possible to replace guys on the roster who'll likely be gone to free agency or maybe even retirement in the next few years while still hedging against injuries.

If the Jags draft Tebow it'll be as a TE or FB.

As a QB he wouldn't make it in the NFL.
