Stigma (8/27/2008)
Doom and gloom from the dog?

What a surprise?

Now a more pertinent question should be whether anybody really cares what he thinks?

Then why the hell do you guys turn these threads into full out TMD roasts?

You'd swear people are peepeeing on themselves because TMD made a prediction.

Jagwired'd is to moderators as a wrongfully accused killer is to the court of law.

I show off my anger after Jags losses. I can't help myself.

Not try to start a war here buuuut this is MY 2 cents:

I don't get why every single post TMD makes, the only responses are "the sky is falling...i hate shack...your opinions are worthless..."and other e-attacks on his opinion. To me, there isn't any difference in him saying something he doesn't like and/or disagrees with about the team than other posters on here always saying yayay everything is perfect in Jagland!

Message boards are for opinions, debates, conversation, and passing along information-- right? That's what I look to this thing for anyways. I just don't understand why everyone can't just take his posts at face value, topics open for discussion. Think his posts are too negative? Don't read them. There are some people on here that I think post jackass stuff so when I see their name I just skip over it.

I guess what I'm saying is it gets old seeing 847 pages of TMD bashing when I'm actually trying to read it. I for one, like reading what he posts if for no other reason than his opinions are usually completely different from everyone on here.

Blah. I don't know, not trying to pick sides in what looks like an endless war I just want more football talk less people bashing!

I understand what you are saying, and, for the most part, I agree. But if presenting an opposing argument were all this guy did around here, he wouldn't be insulted half as much.

Yeah, I guess I'm still relatively new around here and I must have missed when he burnt his bridges...I guess? Or I just miss the posts where he fights back with personal attacks...

thanks for being objective, and not jumping down my throat!!!

You missed alot.

Lets do this.

Trust me erasergirl, I have no problem with a different opinion, because sometimes it makes me think about my own opinions. But, everyday its the same ol song. Shack bashing, sky is falling, never anything positive. Sometimes it makes all of us wonder, why the heck are you a jag fan??? It's obvious he doesn't enjoy it.

It's come to my attention that for some reason, quite a few (older, inparticularly) Jaguars fans are a little bitter...

Maybe it's because we came so close, yet so far...

Maybe because a lot of us are still arrogant local college (UF, FSU, and UM) fans, and until the Jaguars have a Championship to hang their hats on, won't be fully appreciated...

Or maybe it's because the team has made choices, good and bad, that the public hasn't fully agreed with, right or wrong, and it's kept their opinions in a negative light...

Well, some of you need to ditch that idea and support our team fully so when we do get that Championship, you won't seem like such a fair weather fan...

Just my .02 ...

Good grief, if people are irritated at TMD's posts then STOP replying. If you think he's an attention whore then you are fueling his perpetuation by replying.

I don't mind him stating his opinion on this board.

Regards..................the Chiefjag

Me not replying wouldn't make a difference. The show will go on.

I'm quite sure he is an attention whore too. Look at his threads. They are always something ridiculous, and they always draw a huge response. A week ago he made a thread criticizing the FO for not signing Chris Henry FFS. He's got some type of personality disorder. He also likes to praise the Jaguars division rivals for everything they do.

Well, I agree with him.  A rookie coming on a NFL team is like a Freshman coming onto a top SEC team.   Two rookie DE's are not going to enhance the pass rush right now.  However, as we get to the second half of the season, young guns on the DL could make a difference.  It's going to take a while, but our DE position could be solid for years to come.

I agree with you in for the most part.    Bubba Baker and Jevon Kearse were exceptions,   not the norm,   of DE's who lit it up throughout their rookie season.     Most rookie  DE's go through plenty of growing pains,  though their natural ability often leads to them making their presence felt at times.

In the case of Derrick Harvey,  he has an even more difficult task than most rookie DE's because he missed all of training camp and some additional time.      The key the next few weeks is for Harvey not suffering an injury that's associated with him not being in the football shape that everyone else is in.

Later in the season and in the playoffs,    that's when Derrick Harvey has the best chance of paying major dividends for the Jags this season.      Which could prove to be a key in the Jags quest in reaching the pinnacle.

Beyond this season,    next year's off-season and training camp will go along way in helping Harvey learn many of the finer points of DE play that he missed out on this summer.     Barring a significant injury,    Harvey's future appears very bright.
