| | This guy has been warned that he could end up with a career ending injury by the 4 doctors he went to but he has decided to play anyway and wait until he "needs" the surgery??? Is this guy insane??? Talk about rolling the dice on your career and your health!! http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/

| Man he is stupid.
I have never liked Merriman, But I definitely don't want to see the guy get injured.
He is putting his entire career in serious danger. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go down with a serious injury within the 3rd week of the season.
He needs to just take one for the team and get the surgery so he can be back next season for them.
It isn't like the Chargers are a really old team, They have a pretty young team in fact. He can miss this season, come back the next season and they will still be fine.
If he doesn't have the surgery, he is seriously dumb.

| Sounds like he is begging to be the next Daunte Culpepper and tear all 3 ligaments in his knee.

| | Wow, those roids really warped his brain. I got the Chargers as my DST in Fantasy Football, but geez, I'm not happy to hear this for his own sake.

| I don't want the guy to get hurt but in all honesty I could care less when he does. If you go against docotrs wishes like that I am not going to feel sorry for in the least.

| He must truly believe that this is the year for the Chargers. Are they a 3-4?

| What an .
He'll be on IR by Week 5-6 anyways. He's going to get a huge deal with or without the surgery after next year.
Just dumb.

| | Maybe they will hold him out like 4 weeks and the 'roids will heal him up fast. It is still the coaches decision whether to play him or not. If I were Turner, I would tell him to have a seat. He is good, but not if he can't run, cut and use his legs to fight off blockers.

| | I really hope he changes his mind about this. How effective can he be with the injury that he has? I know football players try to be tough and play through injuries and think that they are invincible but he isn't going to be so tough if he gets an injury that ends his career. That just seems like a bad decision. |
