| Living in NY my dad and brother are avid Jets fans (I mock them for it... 4-12 hahahah, only because they knocked the Jags around 2003 when they were down.) but thier QB situation is as follows
Favre - Starter (how can he not be after all thats transpired)
Clemens - Backup (he was a 2nd round pick thats good enough to keep him here, he sucks IMO but just b/c he's a 2nd round pick they can't cut him.)
Brett Ratliff - 3rd stringer/PS QB (he has impressed quite a few people in the preseason with his talents I doubt the Jets are going to cut him)
this leaves Ainge as the odd man out. at worst he's put on the Jets PS so we could sign him off that. he hasn't really impressed me so far. he's only been in for a combined 4 minutes this preseason during "garbage time" in the preseason where the game is dead. the only bad thing I saw was he got pressured and looked like he was getting away and then he took the sack my sliding.)
I considered him before the draft and he seems like he has the tools to be a good developmental guy. he has a good arm, good height. decent field awareness. I haven't had time to really see what he can do but I think he's worth a look and anything he lacks I think Shula could coach.

| We certainly can find someone better than Ainge. But then again I'm partial. I really hate UT.

| | There will be better cuts than Ainge, if you are looking for backups with some development opportunity (a third QB). A couple that come to quick mind... With the arrival of Pennington, Miami is likely to jettison John Beck. They have their youth to develop in Chad Henne, who has played very well. The Bucs will have to cut a couple. I like Simms as a backup. |

| personnally I'd prefer Ainge over Beck who is 27 and by the time he's developed he'll be like 34 by the time he's developed and won't be able to contribute for more than a year or 2. I think we could get one off the Bucs they always have like 8 QB's. I just live in NY so I hear about the Jets a lot... the Giants surprisingly don't get much hype...
