So who are all these proven weapons on offense for the Gators? Tim Tebow, Percey Harvin, and?Well.. those two right there may be all we need.
It certainly worked last year.
Oh, wait a second...
Now that is just an ignorant comment because offensively it did, did you change the channel when the defense was on the field?

So who are all these proven weapons on offense for the Gators? Tim Tebow, Percey Harvin, and?Who said proven? I sure as heck didn't. But.....You did name the two best offensive players in the country.
Rainey will be a beast,Louis Murphywill be very good, Deonte Thompson is another deep threat that will see a lot of time this year, young but explosive, Emmanuel Moody will be great for this offense. Brandon James gives them short fields. Not to mention JuCo Carl Moore. He will be a big time as$et as well.
It is the most explosive offense in the country. Harvin and Rainey will blow up. The offensive line which was pretty good last year will be even better.
Wwere you suggesting they weren't as good as advertised?
You're expecting a lot out of a bunch of unproven players. Harvey and Tebow can't do it every game.
That's all.
It's just funny hearing Gator honks talk about Florida. You'd think they just got done 4 peating or something. The "the defense has a year under it's belt" is probably the best.
Who were the 2 main cogs? You are skirting what was brought up. The explosiveness of the offense.
They were extremely explosive and with the speed and talent they have will be even better if all stay healthy.
You based what was said on record, and that is just way off base. You implied that they werent explosive because off that. They couldn't out score all their opponents 50-49. They didn't always have help. Now discussing the defense is different when it comes to this season, but this argument was how explosive this offense is.

And I found it funny that it one of the posts you replied to someone talking about all the points Florida scored last year and their average. You simply said....How many did they score against Auburn.Another very ignorant comment. No offense can keep up the pace they were on all year. Every football team has 1-2 hiccups over the course of the season, particularly in the SEC.
I even defended you on the thread. Someone ripped you for sayin...It's Alfie he doesnt always think things through.
I replied saying...no, he usually does, that is why I am surprised.
So this isn't a rip Alfie thing in the least.

I'll ask again, where did I say their offense wasn't very good?

he has the acceleration, the saq, and the hands to be a starting nfl reciever. he will not be a polished route runner coming out of the florida system with all that he is asked to do at florida, but he is a reciever who has run through the tackles. the other florida recievers that failed in the nfl were not as physical as he is. the truth of the matter is that it all has to do with his 40 time. if he runs something crazy and catches the ball well the guy is going in the top half of the first round. there is little question about that. he even has the return ability to be a ginn candidate. if eh played at fsu or miami i would say the same thing. We will all have to make the choice between what is right, and what is easy. Give freely unto others, be brave in the face of your enemies, love those who hate you for those who hate you will only win if you hate them back, be generous with praise-it costs nothing, love all men, and fear not for he will come.
There will come a day when the courage of good men will fade away and the tyranny of the weak will destroy mankind..., but today does not have to be that day!
remembe this day men, for it is the curse of man that they forget...

Alfie (8/21/2008) 91 Off The Edge 93 (8/21/2008) Alfie (8/21/2008) Chooch (8/21/2008)
He's going to be tough to project because he is a lot like R. Bush. He has some amazing play-making abilities, but it almost seems like he will have to fit into a specific Offense in order to be as effective as possible. That spread Offense just really doesn't lend itself to evaluating WR's, QB's, and TE's in a traditional manner. I have no doubt though that his triangle numbers alone will put him in Day One.Watch out Chooch, you're going to be stampeded by Gator fans for saying he doesn't have a true position and is a lot like Reggie Bush.
Rumor has it he'll miss the first 2 games as well. I have a feeling this heel thing will be a long term issue.
I hope he is back for Miami, but we should win with or without him.
I don't see any Gator fans arguing the fact that he doesn't have a true position. IMO, he'll be able to focus more on receiving this year which will help his draft status.
Actually, you and a few others threw a big hissy fit a few months ago when I questioned his ability as a WR and that he played out of the back field more than as a WR.
Well, if you question his ability as a college WR I'd question what's in between your ears.
He played RB because we didn't have any good ones.

I implied that the offense wasn't going to be able to carry the team like most Gator fans think. I was making a point that they're relying on a bunch of unproven guys along with Tebow and Harvin.

I'm questioning his ability to make the transition to NFL receiver. I've already gone over why, Gator fans just don't want to hear it.
He's not going to run bubble screens and swings in the NFL all day.
