| This is a little off where the topic has gone but...
I'm watching the replay of UF/UM on CSS. Miami's DLine absolutely took it to florida. They dominated the line of scrimmage. Sean Spence is a beast. If they had any kind of an offense, then I think they win the game. I'm scared to play Miami.
Robert Marve did not impress me. I never got to see Jacory Harris play vs. CofC a few weeks ago so I can't see if he's any better. The only thing I can see is Marve looked scared.
PS. I can't believe they gave Carl Moore a catch on the sideline. He never had possession.

Yeah, when I was watching it I was like "So, basically what the refs are saying is if that happened in the middle of the field, it would have been a fumble."
We all know that wouldn't have happened.

Alfie (9/9/2008) When was the last time Florida played an out of conference game against a BCS school away?
*waits*That would be 2 years ago, when they played in Tallahassee. Oh, and they won a National Championship game that year too. So, um, the Big Ten has a championship game too don't they?....oh, wait... *sigh* When was the last time UF played an out of conference game against a BCS school outside the state of Florida? LOL at counting the FSU game. Really? I thought that was made pretty clear. I'm sorry that you can't carefully construct your questions. I guess you're not a lawyer. I forgot I was talking to Alfie. With Alfie, implicit is always explicit. Apparently, we're all supposed to see into his head. To answer your question, I'm guessing it would be the last time we played Miami during the regular season, which would be 2003.

Is Miami officially not part of Florida anymore?

To answer your question, I'm guessing it would be the last time we played Miami during the regular season, which would be 2003. Is Miami officially not part of Florida anymore? Technically, it's Cuba. I was answering your first question. You said NOTHING about the state of Florida in your original question. Of course, you want to pretend like it's obvious that you meant to say a school NOT from the state of Florida. Yeah, you explicitly stated that in your MOST RECENT post, but I guess I'm not smart because you tripped me up by dancing around two different questions. Like I said, your harping on this OOC schedule BS is no different to me than those lame SEC chants that could be heard after UF beat Miami. It's your typical chest-pounding non-sense as far as I'm concerned. Clearly, enough was thought of UF's strength of schedule to sneak them into the National Championship game two years ago. I remember that OOC game going pretty well for the Gators. Maybe you feel like UF needs to fly out to the West Coast to prove a point; unfortunately, your opinion doesn't carry any BCS implications along with it.

Consider it charity to the needy. You won't get another one of those for another 25 years
You mean a win by less than 25 points? Yeah you're right. The Gators will probably win by 30 or more from here on out.
Well, when will UF play the U again? 15 years from now?
I think it's 2012...and why is it UF's fault again?
Kirby Hocutt wanted to renew the rivalry yearly. Gates said, "nah, I'll stick to scheduling The Citadel in the second to last week of the season, thanks though..."
So then he said, "Fine, I'll get FIU every season."
Over the last 10 years, Miami scheduled these schools during the season: Colorado, Ohio State, Florida, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Washington. That is not including playing FSU every year before they moved to the ACC.
I was making a joke. Never said Miami doesnt play a tough OOC. |

Wasn't UF playing FSU every year during FSU's 15 straight top 5 finishes run. Uh yea, I think so. If FSU still was FSU then UF would have the toughest OOC schedule year in and year out. So UF should schedule, FSU and Miami OOC every season, plus play LSU, UGA, UT every year along with Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas every other years.
I guess you don't know what OUT OF CONFERENCE means. Florida usually always has a terrible OUT OF CONFERENCE schedule. There's no way you can debate that. Other than FSU, who do they ever play OUT OF CONFERENCE?
Please stop with the blind hatred. You lose all credibility when you say UF has a weak OOC. How's Maine and FIU working out for you there?
Blind hatred? Maybe you can prove otherwise, and you know... expose my "blind hatred"?
Did I say anything about Iowa having a tough OOC schedule? I don't think so. Traditionally however, Iowa's one of the teams who goes out and plays people. They generally lose, but they play OOC games against BCS schools. For instance, they play Pitt this year at Pitt. When was the last time Florida played an out of conference game against a BCS school away?
*waits*
How many ridiculously tough OOC games do they have to play every year. So they should have to play Miami and FSU every season, plus (never said out of conference but good try) LSU, UGA, UT every year plus a one of the better West teams every season.
And if UF scheduled Colorado, I guarantee everyone would go, "Wow, Colorado. Now thats going out there. Easy scheduling."
its not UF's fault FSU took a plunge. UF used to have beat FSU then win the SEC championship for a shot at the title. That is the toughest 2-game stretch when FSU is a top program, which they were for 20 straight years.
And people forget UF had a top 5, if not the number one overall, schedule in 2006. So what do they achieve by piling on an even tougher schedule? Can anyone answer? Prove themselves? Usually a national championship does that, against the team eeryone thought couldnt be stopped in OSU. |

No, because somebody who knows CFB would know there is no down by contact when it comes to catches, or any situation for that matter. When anything other than your hand touches, you are down. If that happened in the middle of the field, it's either a catch or an incompletion, just like on the sideline.
*waits* (I didn't realize how funny this was until I actually tried it). |

Unless the rules of college football are drastically different than the NFL (which is entirely possible), you have to maintain possession through the ground. If you catch and land on the ground and the ball immediately pops out, it's an incomplete pass. There is a 0% chance it's a catch if it happens in the middle of the field. ZERO PERCENT.
