| Football? (8/20/2008) Did you really think this one through? Do you really think theyre gonna trade their superstar WR for an overpriced, unproven DE and an underachieving, overpaid stoner??? Oh yea, they also have to throw in their cheap, young DE.Not that I think this could occur but wasn't it Boldin who said he would not resign again with Cards? the only way this could happen is if they say well you are going to leave when you contract is up anyways, maybe we can get something out of you besides touchdowns (if he plays like he should).... I highly doubt it but them knowing they could lock Harvey up for years may make it worth it to them.. To much preseason....... Making me thing crazy thoughts. |

TheSpacePope (8/20/2008) I don't think you can call a WR with an average of 12 yards per catch (13.2 for his career) a Superstar. Boldin's a possession WR. And a touchdown machine... Boldin, Porter, Williams, Walker.... Sounds pretty sweet to me.... Though it prob aint gonna happen of course. |

The Mad Dog (8/20/2008) ...... yeah, WRs are a dime a dozen and the two recent guys that the Jags picked up are worth a dime at this point. They are both nicked up and on the mend, not to mention that they have done nothing here (yet). If/when Porter gets to 100%, it could be week six before we see him on the field. Then, if he's lucky, he won't re-injure the hammy. Same can be said for Harvey, who by the way, is only running a 4.8 around some lawn chairs he has set up in his back yard to simulate and O-line. Do you think if they sign him today that he will be NFL game ready in week 1? H*ll to the no. HE TOO will be ready to play in the NFL by mid-season. BUT the Jags would throw him into the fire in week 2 at the latest and he would be at a high risk for injury due to lack of reps in training camp and the pre-season. Then where does that leave you? With 17 or 18 million sitting on IR. Boldin is a stud receiver who is proven. The Jags have Groves and a defensive coordinator who likes to blitz corners and safeties to disrupt QBs. If a Boldin can get 8-10 TDs and the team can average 24 - 31 points per game, then you can outscore opponents instead of shutting them down defensively and sqeaking by. Just my opinion. Just so I have this right; You advocate the idea of considering the money paid to J. Porter and T. Williamson as a sunk cost right now without seeing any play time out of them, and also trade away what just might be the 2nd or 3rd best draft pick that this team has ever brought in. All of that for a 'proven' WR that has complained about his contract for the past three off-seasons, and has never had a TD season like R. Williams did last year, and a guy that timed out in the 40 at a DT's pace. How was 'Franchise' mode last night? It was awesome as usual! I love having 15 first round draft picks. BOOSH!!!! |

| TheSpacePope (8/20/2008) I don't think you can call a WR with an average of 12 yards per catch (13.2 for his career) a Superstar.I don't know if I would call him a superstar but he is no chump either. Here are some of the stats for some very good WRs in the game who have pretty much ALL been number ones. Boldin's - 13.2 yards per catch for his career Owens - 14.8 Moss - 15.8 Porter - 13.9 Harrison - 13.4 Wayne - 14.1 Holt - 14.7 Fitzgerald - 13.8 (WOW look at the difference here) And if you take out the one year that Holt averaged an amazing 19.9 yards per catch his average is even closer to Boldins. I like how people think that Porter can be our number one and then turn around and blast Boldin and use his yards per catch average....I guess that .7 yards per catch more is huge. Admit is spacepope you were talking out of your a$$ on this one. Boldin would immediately be the BEST WR on our team should we acquire him. I also like how people like to point out Reggie Williams TDs last year and always seem to forget his totals for the other years. Boldin has averaged almost 6 TDs a year while playing with Fitz while Reggie has averaged almost 4 TDs a year playing next to no one as good as Fitz. If I had my choice I would take Boldin as our number 1 over Porter AND Williamson every day and twice on Sundays. |

| Well, according to KC Joyner Boldin isn't as great as he looks. He routinely gets shut down by good corners and gets the vast majority of his yardage off 2/3 corners and LB's.
TMD, is KC Joyner smart or an ?
I know it changes with you, depending on the agenda.
