| put it this way. if you could not go to work for 2 weeks and you know that you would get a significant raise would you not go to work even if all your co-workers and bosses get upset at you?
the reason Harvey wants a big contract as his first one is that when you play well and its time for you to resign and get a raise if you start at 30 mil. you are pretty much guarenteed to get at least 31 mil. or higher. if you start at 25 mil. even if you play well and deserve 40 mil. if your last contract was 25 mil. the team isn't really as open to giving you a 15 mil. raise.
I understand what he's doing but he will sign eventually just stop complaining the sky isn't falling.
he like Russell last year will sign before the season starts since if he doesn't he misses paychecks and holding out for 5 mil. more woudn't be beneficial since he holds out and losses ground and money each day he misses.

Besides his salary in rookie year is usually peanuts compared to signing bonus salaries get higher in the later years of the contracts. He will be signed sometime this week or we all hope anyway. IMO just get the darn deal done people. |
