I just watched the interview with Phelps and Mark Spitz. Phelps certainly deserves all the accolades he's receiving. In the interview he said he was truly honored to have his name in same sentence as Jesse Owens, Carl Lewis, Mary Lou Retton and Mark Spitz. Quite a group to be associated with and he seems prepared to handle it with the dignity such an honor requires.
Congratulations young man. You're representing our country in Olympic sport at it's best.

| It's interesting that you say that Jags2DaDeath because that's what brought about the comment Phelps made in the interview about being honored to be included with Olympic greats such as Owens. He really seems to have his head on straight. He knows they were great and doesn't take away anything from their accomplishments. I have to applaud that.

| His race tonight was amazing. To come back the way he did, with that finish. I have never been that excited watching swimming. He one by one hundredth of a second. That was a great race, and he seems to be a good person. In his interview he sounded very grounded with all his success. It's good to see an American do all of these amazing things.
