Except to drink. Until three years later.

Drinking is not a right.

To THINK he is gay?

So, what, he was a straight guy who just happened to be attracted to males?

I'm a Conservative and I find your stance deplorable.

Find my stance however you want. It makes no difference to me. I am of the belief that nobody is "born gay". Sexuality is a learned experience not a genetic one.

I'm a fast learner.

How many years has it been since you've been 15, jagibelieve?

For me it's been 8 years - so I have a pretty good memory of what it was like.

Trust me - I knew which gender I was attracted to and I did my best to, ahem, experience those lovely ladies.

I also knew gay guys who knew they were attracted to other guys.

15 is not too young to know what your sexual orientation is.. you're just fooled by all the guys who pretend to be straight and don't have the strength to "come out" until they're older.

To answer your questions.

It's been MANY years since I was 15. Of course, when I was 15 my hormones were RAGING just like any other normal 15 year olds would be.

I still stand by my belief that homosexuality is learned rather than genetic. I have nothing against homo's and what they want to do. As of matter of fact, I have disclosed in the past that my own brother is a pole smoker. It doesn't mean that I love him any less.

As I look back, it was all about how he was brought up and how I was brought up (there is a considerable difference in our ages).

You are just completely and utterly incorrect. I know you whole heartedly beleive what you say, and that's fine, but it's wrong none the less. I have 3 sisters, all straight as an arrow, me not so much. My parents were married for a LOT of years, till death did them part, we were all raised together, same everything, no step parents or brothers, nothing like that. I used to pray I would stop feeling the way I did and tried my hardest to date boys and all of that, but alas, it didn't happen.

At 21 my mother asked me point blank, are you gay? Thank Goodness! I told her the truth. She told me stories of when I was a child and how she thought I might be gay based off of some of the ways I acted or things I did. I didn't remember any of the stories she told as I was way too young.  Thank goodness my parently accepted me exactly the way I am and never, NEVER made me feel different than the rest of my sisters. I really don't know how my up bringing could have been any more normal.

I didn't read the entire article, but the only thing I have to say about it is that if the parents win one red cent, they should be forced to give it to who was taking care of their child that they weren't taking care of anymore.

Funny how feelings change when a dollar gets pinned to them.

The parents shouldn't collect one cent.    Any judgment in their favor is a crime in itself.

When reading the article,  it's evident that the parents failed their son.   Otherwise,  they would have not lost their rights to be his guardian.     They weren't suitable to be responsible for him.    There's no question they should look at themselves in the mirror.

I love that I can type "pole smoker" into the search bar and this thread comes up.

I just want to reassure myself of my own sexuality. This is gross, right?

Do people that look like you (AV of course) really need a sexual orientation?
