All QBs have the same amount of chance to become great QBs, regardless of what round they're drafted in. It's all about what's going on in their head and not about arm strength.

That is all.

Jagwired'd is to moderators as a wrongfully accused killer is to the court of law.

I show off my anger after Jags losses. I can't help myself.

thats not correct.  if you dont have the physical ability, you wont make it.  and that includes arm strength.

Take parts of what both of ou are saying to find the correct answer.

For a QB to be successful in this league he needs the combination of attributes, smart/ good quick decision maker, hard worker/ relentless study & film work, toughness, leadership, at least moderate arm strength, at least moderate athletic ability.

I get your point.  It is very very tough to predict who will make it and who has all the potential but falls way short. It is the same with all sports.  If you watch enough college football/basketball/baseball/hockey/ you see great great collegiate athletes who are in the perfect place and time- but there is ABSOLUTELY no guarantee which ones will excel at the next level.

Dan marino, doug flutie, terry bradshaw, randall cunningham, michael vick, kurt warner- these guys don't have much in common.  That's why the Brady Quinns of the world are so popular to draft, becausethey have all the tangibles and measurables.  If there was a formula you'd want brady quinn.

Throw into thaty equation playmakers around him. That may be worth more than anything.

90-95% of the time, I would/ will agree with the above statement, JacksJags, however, Favre made quality WR's out of nobodys during his time with GB.
