| I'd be willing to bet Harvin doesn't even run a sub 4.4 at the combine.

| rfc17 (8/15/2008) do you actually have your own opinion about Harvin or are you just basing it on bitter fans of rival schools?
If you people want to shy away from Harvin because of his injury history or because of the trouble he ran into in high school, Id understand. I got not problem with that whatsoever. But it boggles my mind how anyone can look at what he has done on the field and looked at his sheer athletic ability and say he cant be a good pro player because of that. I just dont know what those people are looking at.
When the guy lines up at WR, he has been unguardable. and he never drops a pass. whether its a short dump of or a long bomb. go on youtube and look at his highlights. ive seen a deep out. a 15 yard post. a quick hitch. doesnt drop it.
he can run the routes. and the guy has such great acceleration and has the rare ability to change directions without slowing down, that he is a nightmare in the open field whether he has the ball or is running a pass pattern. his biggest challenge being a pro WR will be getting off the line and beating a jam. but what rookie WR doesnt have to learn that?
i keep reading the Reggie Bush comparison but that is so wrong. Bush is a RB. Harvin is a WR. If an NFL team uses Harvin as a RB, they dont know what theyre doing.
Again, if you dont like him because of injuries and off the field stuff then fine. understanable. but to not like his athletic ability. or criticizue him because of how meyer uses him. well thats just total bunk.
There have been plenty of guys faster and more athletic that sucked at the pro level.
You're showing your Gator homerism by saying there's no chance he'll be a bust.

| He's a Bama fan. He's jealous that Bama has no one near the level of Harvin.

To say Harvin doesn't have a chance in the NFL is ludicrous and like rfc said: plain dumb. But should I expect anything else?.. Now that the Gators have a RB (hopefully), maybe Harvin can concentrate on one position: WR.

I'm a Jaguar fan and think College football is dumb.

Uh... I never said he wouldn't make it in the NFL.
I just don't think he's going to be as dynamic as some people think.
I'd take him in the late 20's, no problem.

He had offseason surgery on his heel, so hopefully that won't be a problem this year. Even as a nole, I love watching that kid play.

TheSpacePope (8/15/2008) If you ask Gator fans, of course they're going to have an inflated view of him.
I prefer to ask fans of other SEC teams who usually say, Great College player, no place for him in the professional game.Probably fans that are upset that Harvey smoked their team for 200+ total yards You mean like he did against Vanderbilt...

| Offensive line.
Honestly, we only have two sure-fire long-term starters on the line: Manuwai and Pashos. Uche Nwanari is on the fast track to being the third, but not yet.
Khalif, Williams and even Meester with his injuries... we can't tell whether or not they'll be productive for us for much longer. |
