| My bitter side says put him in and let him return punts all night. My rational side says don't even dress him.

| JRD (8/8/2008) My bitter side says put him in and let him return punts all night. My rational side says don't even dress him.My first thought was similar except I was thinking put him as QB and tell the line to pull a Salaam. That way he can truly learn what NFL DE's do. Then I smiled and thought, "I hope the deal gets done soon."

Probably not. Which would be the right thing to do, of course... Are you kidding? "Thanks for finally signing, Derrick! Now go out there and get us some sacks!" That would be hilarious...

| | probably not, but his chances are a lot better than favres. at QB you have a situation where you have to learn an entire offense, checks, sight adjustments, routs, develop chemistry and timing with recievers, ETC. Harvey is a defensive end. hey kid, just hit that guy behind center as hard as you can if you can. i wouldn't have a problem getting him in on a few plays in clean up time, but probably not seeing as we don't know where he is with conditioning.

Give freely unto others, be brave in the face of your enemies, love those who hate you for those who hate you will only win if you hate them back, be generous with praise-it costs nothing, love all men, and fear not for he will come. There will come a day when the courage of good men will fade away and the tyranny of the weak will destroy mankind..., but today does not have to be that day! remembe this day men, for it is the curse of man that they forget... | |

would he play a couple of downs in tommorows game? GO JAGS No. The team is going to invest heavily when the deal does get done, and if it happened today, there's no way that they'd risk injury by throwing him into a game situation after missing all of training camp. The odds of him being conditioned enough to get on the field without any real evaluation and preparation would be a terrible move for the team. All it would take is one pulled hamstring because he's not in game shape and the cat calls would come pouring down.

| They could have him fly in on one those jet packs while a marching band spells out his name on the field playing "we're in the money".

Look at what he's doing in his own house. The guy is tearing through an o-line builit of chairs so well that he is seemingly unstoppable. And Freddy T thought that he had a rigourous alternative training method. LOL. |
