Say hypothetically, that Dave goes down for an estimated five weeks, Cleo is the only other QB on the roster, Quinn Gray and Todd Bouman are both available FA's. Who do we sign? Bouman.

Say hypothetically, that Dave goes down for an estimated five weeks, Cleo is the only other QB on the roster, Quinn Gray and Todd Bouman are both available FA's. Who do we sign? McManus said today on his show that he felt the only reason Lemon is #2 is because of his contract, and that he feels Bouman should be the backup. That's somewhat hinted to by Vic's latest statement: "Lemon is likely to get the bulk of the playing time and the Jaguars would like for Lemon to justify his acquisition in free agency with a strong preseason performance." Gray's not coming back. Bouman may not leave if they're concerned enough about our Lemon. Tommy Mac has been to 2 practices the entire training camp. While I'm sure that, at least to a certain extent, Lemon is the backup because of the contract, I think it's also because of the fact that he's simply better than Bouman. Bouman almost completely fell apart toward the latter half of the public session of training camp.

| McManus is just trying to stir it up a bit, since there's no 1st string QB controversy. He's just inventing a 2nd string QB controversy is all.

He's just inventing a 2nd string QB controversy is all.Why in the world would anyone want to start that kind of slapfight if there weren't some truth to it? McManus adding his 2 cents makes that virtually the entire 1010xl staff who has the similar opinon that Lemon isn't all that. And it's not just talking heads on that station. Plenty of us Jaguar fans have the same sentiment. Vic couldn't have said it more clearly. He has much to show to justify his contract, and hasn't done it yet. What we're paying him is near starter money, and he's struggling to show he's a backup. It speaks VOLUMES that Miami was perfectly fine with letting Lemon walk, yet did not hesitate a single second in calling his agent when noodle-armed Chad Pennington hit the market yesterday afternoon. They may not end up signing Pennington, but it sure would appear that Miami (who desperately needs help) has been more interested in acquiring Pennington than they were in retaining Lemon.

I think you need to shut up Pirk. Seriously.
Lemon is better than never-been-anything Bouman.
Just accept it. Stop hanging off of McManus' nuts. He doesn't really know what he's talking about - especially when it comes to evaluating QB talent.

| Well, we'll see if how well or not Lemon plays in his pre-season action.
If he performs as pirkster and others suggest that he might, ....just another, of many, Shack Harris mistakes. I'm getting quite used to those.
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

I think it all stems from a, uh, lack of happiness with his endowment.
